“We’re Fighting for an Affordable America”: Hakeem Jeffries Blasts Decisions Made by Trump & GOP

In a powerful address from Brooklyn's Shirley Chisholm State Office Building, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries calls out Donald Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress for driving up the cost of living. Jeffries highlights how the "Trump tariffs" and massive Medicaid cuts have made life more expensive for everyday Americans while enriching the well-connected. Emphasizing that "life has become way too expensive," he outlines the Democratic strategy to win back the House in the 2026 midterms, defend key battleground seats, and lower housing, gas, and grocery costs. He also addresses the October 7th anniversary and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.
