Sometimes beautiful fabric can be found in the most unlikely places! I found a beautiful, traditionally woven cotton jacquard with a William Morris-style motif at the Roubaix fabric market last fall at a stand selling upholstery fabric off-cuts by weight! Not satisfied with simply looking at this fabric on a pillow, or as a tote bag, I decided I needed to be able to wear it, so I chose the Tilly and the Buttons Ramona skirt. I just needed to figure out how to make a garment out of such thick, heavy fabric. This sewing vlog follows my trials and tribulations, including how I pattern matched large, flowery motifs, managed bulk, and battled not one broken zipper, but two! 😅
