A packed house for the opening of the 18th edition
of the Festival Lumière in Lyon, France,
which will honor the Coen brothers later in the week.
On the program, nearly 450 screenings.
On the red carpet, a rug that really tied the room together,
Euronews asked guests a single question.
What is your earliest cinema memory?
It was a Bruce Lee film.
It was called Fist of Fury, the Chinese connection. I was like,
like I think six years old when I saw it
and watching that film on Super 8 wheels
that was like taking speed well my Madeleine Dupruz no question was the
first film I ever saw I was three years old
and it was Mary Poppins and it
completely entered my physical
and mental and creative brain
I have the great impact
influenced by Kurosawa.
The first time I saw a film that I would say that this is very amazing
is Yojimbo.
I was 14 years old, I walked in the theatre alone
and I found out that was a very amazing movie.
Among the guests was Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi.
She was there to present Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,
the film by Ang Lee that made her famous worldwide.
screened for the first time in its restored 4,000K version.
It's the first time I come to Lumiere.
I'm very delighted.
And yesterday I had a city walk
and I think I've fallen in love with this city.
Oh, brilliant.
So I hope I have another chance to come back to the festival.
