AI GeneratedMatthew from Banchoners discusses his collaboration with actor Adam, detailing how his admiration for Adam's performance in \"Under the Skin\" led to a partnership. They created a film centered on Adam's life, the movies that inspired him, and a pivotal female character, while exploring themes of kindness and resilience.
How you doing?
Hi, lovely to meet you. I'm Matthew with Banchoners.
Hey mate, you alright?
Yeah, great. So great to be here, so great to perform.
I'd just love to know how this all started.
So how did you come to meet Adam
and how did you become attached to this project?
Am I holding this or are you holding this?
Whichever you prefer, honestly. I'll hold it if you prefer.
Okay, cool. I'll hold it.
It's really small, I'm sorry.
So, yes, I stalked Adam.
I saw Adam in Under the Skin in 2014.
and um yeah just loved his performance in that film
and loved that film so much um and i just
thought a lot about him i guess like subconsciously like
in the next like 10 years uh that went past
i just thought about um i wonder what other films he's going
to be in i wonder how much of his own
personal experience of life he brought to that part
um and then i finally put up the courage
to you know him you know his agent
and then we hung out together and quite quickly it was like
the film that both of us wanted to make was kind
of born i guess it was like a film about adam
but very much about movies about the films that have inspired him
and guided him in his life and
also it was going to be about this girl playing
a big part in the film that was really important
to Adam, um so yeah it kind of just happened
and quite quickly and easily just kind of got going
and uh just speaking to Adam now he seems like someone
who's so wise and rich with life experience
very much i was just wondering if there's like
a particular lesson you've learned from working
with adam something he's taught you
or something you've learned from him many things many things
um i would say that um i would say Adam's taught me that kindness
and laughter are like super
powers and you can like overcome more things than you think
by like making a joke and like uh kind
of um finding the positive and just like steering away
from the negative that's what he's taught me
like i've been in very uh intimate spaces with Adam during
so many joyful times but also some
more tricky times i think Adam finding
a way to laugh make someone else laugh
uh that's like really inspiring i think
that genuinely like changes things so he's taught me
to try and laugh more basically
and uh finally is there like a particular memory you have about
making the film like a fun memory
or something that stood out about the production of it?
I'd love to know. Yeah, fun memory.
It doesn't have to be fun, just make it a memory. A memory,
a memory, a memory. It can be fun if you like it.
Um, I think being in New York with Adam when he
was shooting A Different Man, that was pretty amazing,
that was pretty special. Actually Adam
had like talked about the fact that in New York,
before we went there together, he had been there
before and he was saying um my experience of New York
is that people like just strangers come up to
you in the street everyone wants to speak obviously London's
a bit like that too but he was at New
York is like another like level of that so I
was intrigued to be like I wonder how what would it be
like being in New York with Adam and it was true
so many people are coming up to him wanting to
hang out with him and wanting to like crack jokes with him
and learn about his career in his life
house. We filmed a lot in Adam's house
and I promised Adam's mum on about 15 occasions
this is our last day of filming
and then we get on turning up with the crew and actually
recently Adam was like, Ed,
my mum thinks the film is still happening. Thankfully we
have a premiere, we're no longer filming.
But yeah, it was a good time, it was a joy.
Excellent, thank you so much, it's been a pleasure to speak to you.
Thank you, thank you sir. Cheers mate.
