Halloween Candies! Most are great, but some are so bad they test your faith in God. But which candies are truly the most heinous in the bunch? I uncover the worst three, according to me anyway, along with some fun historical insights on all of them to see what truly makes them so damn terrible.
Hammy discusses the worst Halloween candies that are still on the market. He critiques several classic treats, arguing that their flavors and textures are outdated or unpleasant, and questions why these candies remain popular despite their lack of appeal to modern tastes.
Hey everybody, it's Hammy, and it's officially Halloween season,
so you can start scarfing down
Reese's pumpkins, and Frankenberry,
and my favorite, fun-sized Snickers.
But before we go to heaven, we're gonna go to hell.
Let's talk about those Halloween candies
that still exist, but shouldn't.
What's that sound? Sounds like a box full of rocks.
Stop. These came out in 1945.
Before you crack open one of these, you might want to call your dentist
and tell him to warm up that chair.
They come in cherry, lemon, lime, orange, strawberry, and pain!
Just kidding. They all taste like pain.
I love gummies, but if there was such thing
as a monkey's paw candy, it's dots.
It also gets stuck in your teeth.
You're telling me this is cherry, but it tastes like a Yankee candle.
Speaking of awful flavors, do you want
to know what the Great Depression tasted like?
It tasted like this.
Tootsie Rolls.
These have been around since 1907, and today,
they make 65 million of these daily.
What? Why? Who's eating these?
Don't you know this exists? Or this?
Why are you wasting time on this?
I feel like this is one of those candies where
the customer base is quickly dying out.
If you don't have fond memories of Sock Hops or Harry Truman,
you're probably not going to eat one of these disappointing turds.
You can always opt for Tootsie Pops, which is a slightly better option.
It's sort of the candy equivalent of playing Minesweeper.
See how close you can get to the center without biting down
on that disgusting chocolate taffy.
That's as far as I'll go. I've got a kid to provide for.
And as awful and old-timey as these are, we gotta go back even further
for the undisputed king of dog-sh** Halloween candies.
Be honest, you knew this was coming.
Candy Corn.
These candy-coated punishments were developed by the Goelitz
Confectionery Company, which is now known as Jelly Belly.
Wait, what? That's insane!
Finding out that Jelly Belly...
Tasty.
Wonderful.
...developed Candy Corn...
Heinous.
Disgusting.
is like when you learn about Operation Paperclip.
You know, that whole thing where the US government recruited a bunch of
ex-Nazis after World War II?
At least Werner Von Braun didn't help invent this.
These are making me rethink
my old theory about how Tootsie Roll customers are slowly dying off.
Because who the hell is buying these?
I mean, I did, but I bought them to make this stupid video.
Wait, is that who's keeping the candy corn industry going?
Really handsome content creators?
Who knows?
But fun fact, the waxy coating on the outside,
it's made from lac resin, which is...
A secretion made by various bugs?
That's kind of metal.
I might have to rethink this candy.
Thanks for watching.
