Hey guys, in today's video I'm actually going
to show you the rest of my AHR videos. I stopped by
Veto, Inficon, Fieldpiece, Navac. I think that's it.
I stopped by their booths and I get them to
display and talk about some of their products.
I think you'll like it. It's all very interesting.
The Vito booth was actually very large.
I kind of just showed you an overview of what they had
there, I hope you enjoy, stay tuned
guys, these are the Fieldpiece
leak detectors y'all seen me use
the DR58 and DR82, this is a new one, the DRX3. What's
your name? Garrett. Garrett is here with me
Garrett, and he was explaining to me
that this also detects um combustible gases, the A3, yes A3
so your R290, R600, 600a, propane, butane, isobutane
methane natural gases for heating combustion
applications and it's Bluetooth
so we can sync it with the app, yes, the Fieldpiece Job Link
go in here, you'll show on your Job Link the same type
of readings that you see on the display on
your unit as well as be able to log your leak detection log data
and update in case
there are other refrigerants coming out
so that's pretty cool and you said this has a heated diode
yes, it's a heated diode, that's um pretty good, we might have
to give that a try, thanks for showing it to
me, pleasure, thanks. All right guys, there's
so much at the Veto booth that um I'm just gonna have to
do a little bit of a walk around to show you, so
here we go, that's the Blackout NV5B, I just saw the
infrared
one over
there. I've
had one
of these
that's
kind
of big. I
like this,
this is a
version of what I use.
I like the colors on it.
yeah that's nice
Let's see if it's large, extra large.
Thank you.
What's up, man?
I'm Curtis.
These are the
infrared ones?
Yeah.
There's an MB-5B.
This is the one I was most interested in.
yeah i'm really glad i'm laying
on it right now i should know it uh yeah once you're
i can't i can't that's crazy
this is this is curtis you know curtis this is american
oh yeah nice to meet you man i'll watch some of your videos yeah
i
like
this
one
too
like
that
singles
trap
I know I
know I hope
y'all enjoyed
that this
will be a lot
more to come
tell me about your recovery machines depending
on your scope of work I'll start that this is
more industrial commercial cylinder commercial stuff potential
is this new yes this will last
year but it is new to to certain stores certain markets
so this is brand new five ton mini splits
any of any of that stuff then we have a step up
which should be the commercial in the middle
of these two this would be it's fully digital
do you get cfm ratings on these no no for from pumps recovery units
is that cfm it's more the
the rate of recovery for that that varies with refrigerants
okay and this is just one where we can see
on there where you can see the guts inside of it
so focus on the size of the coil with that size
of the coil you get more refrigerant flowing through
it and it cools down even faster
so realistically speaking you don't have to carry water water all
right so what's the price point on these price point you'd have
to go to your local distributor
there so they would they would price it out
so you're not going to give me an idea
i can give you an idea but always your discount would be
Yeah, and if you have third ones, what are you going to do eventually?
Your pin holes, it's going to leak from the inside out
so it's going to create a little
roundabout.
Do you know if y'all have anything in the
building for a battery powered recovery machine?
There probably is, but I don't see it until I see it.
That's the truth.
Okay.
Over time, over panels.
There's two CFM's.
Tiny.
Is this new, the 6 CFM?
That's exactly right.
6 CFM.
That's our brand new one.
So is it out now?
It'll be out shipping March 31st.
March 31st.
And how much did it cost?
Yo, can't tell you all that.
Can't tell you all that.
Am I going to have to Google it?
You can't tell me.
Yeah, I can't tell you the price on it yet
because even wholesalers don't even have them yet.
What's that?
It's going to be a little bit higher than 400 here,
man, what's that?
That thing is new this year and we're selling it with an adapter.
So with that adapter, this is a DeWALT adapter.
So you can buy these blocks, the 2, 4, and the 6, with no battery.
This will be shipped with it.
It's a DeWALT battery adapter.
What about something like Milwaukee or Makita?
You can do those too?
Go somewhere else to buy that.
this one for the walker amazon other places
as the Milwaukee adapter okay okay but it'll work
it'll work still get them yep now of course we don't recommend them
because our batteries are
engineered for our products here uh-huh the reason we say
that is because this is kind of like an
inverter right it ramps up as it goes most
of your other batteries from other companies it's like an
on and off switch does it communicate does
your battery communicate with your pump not these oh
yes this one right here does yeah i'm sorry i
thought you're talking about like the app itself
it will so the battery itself will let you talk
to it let me know when it's dying
kind of ramp it down unlike the other ones it's gonna run
with the adapter on it it's just gonna
yeah you lose that capability i understand yeah
but 60 fm is nice i think the biggest so far is
five five we're gonna do a one up gotta go
to six you know how that game's played man
i didn't realize this one was so small very lightweight
so that's two four and six right
we're like even numbers sometimes
but we made a five in this all right when you coming out with
battery-powered recovery machine we know somebody has one we're
not ready for that yet because
well the draw it has right yeah somebody has one
but um run time on it is very limited
so it's the first step in what may
be a good product i'm not sure it is now
yeah it's i think it's gonna be a while
for that to come out i mean think about it
With a 20-something pound drive with no battery.
With batteries on it, you're not that three or four of them.
It's going to add up.
So are you still trying to carry this thing up the damn roof?
So it's going to have its place.
I agree.
I think we're eventually going to get there.
Probably will.
I mean, it's like everything else with batteries.
It's going to happen.
Whoever thought we were going to have
a battery-operated pump eight years ago?
I know.
I'm not going to buy another corded pump.
I'm just not going to do it.
It's so convenient when you're on those jobs
and you can't find an outlet for it.
And then you can also buy the corded adapter cord, right?
So if you're in that situation where it's like,
man, I remember the right cord here,
and your batteries are all dead,
you've still got the ability to do that with the corded adapter.
Do you all sell a corded adapter for it?
That is separate, yes. The corded adapter will fit all of these.
That's cool.
It gives you the ability on that.
That's cool, thanks for going over them with me.
Yeah, no worries.
Thank you.
Have you seen the other pump?
It says you can get them like on Amazon.
No, so that pump is the test,
it has an oil test method on it.
Yeah, that's cool.
Yeah, the oil test method.
You still got a hook and micron gauge to it, right?
So what you do is hook a micron gauge to it
and it has an oil test feature.
So you hit the button, it's got a bigger screen on it,
the oil test feature, and now it gives you the ability
say hey i want you to run this test for me 100 microns in one minute
or 250 whatever you choose
if it doesn't get down to that it's going to give you a pass
or fail if you fail that means there's
something going on with your oil there's no more looking at the oil
or the oil in the pump it's
going to be the oil in the pump that's correct
so we added that to it it's also bluetooth capable
so is the micron gauges bluetooth capable too okay
at least i want to go look at that
not going to be 500 psi rated correct pressure yeah
so if you put pressure on it it's not going
to ruin it it's not going to ruin it nope what about getting oil
on the sensor i mean you still
want to maintain clean and just get a little bit
of rubbing alcohol oil shake it and do your standard
cleaning i tested it okay i go through these quickly this this one
or no in general in general
i go through those i've had bad luck
with them same i keep having to clean them even though i
keep i don't put pressure on them i keep having to clean them
and then eventually they get where
they're just wonky or they won't read right
but this one you're cleaning i can put pressure on it
and it will still be okay well if you
if you mean saying you can be clean then yeah it'll
still be okay i've i've had zero failures uh with the micron gauge
and i have 15 states and
in all of Canada, not a zero warranty.
Now that doesn't mean that things can't happen, right?
But overall, I basically had the same issue
that you were kind of mentioning in terms of
you'll accidentally blow enough positive pressure up
and get it destroyed.
My mistake.
It happens, right?
I did it, I did it as well.
That's why we modified this micro gauge
not to have any batteries, it uses a USB-C port,
so it's more robust of a tool.
and we just needed a higher pressurization rating on it
because that's what kept happening to me personally.
Does it have any kind of filter to keep the oil
from touching the sensor?
Like the threading?
No, I'm talking about on the inside.
No, it doesn't have any threading in there.
So it can still get dirty?
It can still get dirty, yeah, inherently, yeah.
Bluetooth connects to the app, so very universal tool.
But it's also the size of it because it was always an issue of finding
where I could fit it, depending on the things on the back of the wall.
And I've tried to get prices from some of the other guys,
but what's the price on these?
It depends on the wholesaler. Where are you based out of? Oh, Atlanta.
Georgia.
Georgia. Sorry, not Atlanta.
Leesburg.
It depends on the wholesaler.
We're a manufacturer, so we don't really have...
I know it ranges around $200.
So that's what I do in terms of levels, so it's nice to do that.
I might try it. I've had bad luck with almost everybody.
No, give it a try. I've had nothing but good luck with it.
Because I used to do a lot of trainings, evacuation classes,
and I was the biggest culprit in destroying my microgages.
And I'm like, okay, this is insane because we're too new of a company
and we're still only eight years young.
So it was like, yeah, we're too young to be having failures.
So I love the idea that the company
is actually creating tools to reduce potential warranties.
Yes.
All right.
Thank you for showing me.
Hey, thank you.
Yeah.
And even check out our...
Fiber-filled plastic here, so it's a stronger plastic.
We also made the buttons better.
So...
Made them better.
Are they harder to push?
Good, good.
Check them out.
Oh, I see.
So they press a lot nicer, a lot easier, both sides.
The battery door is brand new.
spring-loaded battery door so you just pull it
and open it up it's not going to fall off on me
shouldn't fall off on you check it out and we're
also this one doesn't have it but we're updating
to USB-C as well just grab it with your finger
and then pop it up with your other finger there you
go so are these the same sensors
that were in the previous detail same sensor yeah sensor didn't
change battery didn't change mostly plastics
but then that USB-C upgrade is the price price no no
well it has a better feel to it yeah it's a sturdier plastic
so the fiberfill it's the overall body
on it seems to be like a little bit fatter almost
it is slightly it is slightly we had to so you'll notice
that the the overmold the blue part is
flush with the with the hard plastic that's
a that was a manufacturing change it just to uh
to make it a little bit uh more durable
and so uh that's why the whole body grew just a little bit
to uh because the plastic had to fill out to match
the level of the glue i see now explain to me
because my viewers may want to know they see me showing
this what's the warranty on something
like this two years over the counter
so if you have any problems with it for two two years take
it back where you bought it
and they'll give you a brand new one over the counter okay and um are
you gonna tell me price uh i can't give you an exact price
because that depends on the distributor
you're not a wholesaler we're not yet you have
to it depends on where you're buying it from and what
discount you get there okay
but yeah this is gonna be a nice update this will uh this will be
available um probably i think i think we're looking at q3 this year
so uh late summer okay
and i noticed with one of the last ones i had i took it
to the counter it was a sensor they pulled
the sensor out of one off the shelf i mean it's like they called
y'all and y'all gave them
permission they pulled one off the shelf put it in there for me
and it worked and they just ordered
a new sensor for the one that was on the shelf yep whatever
that's nice service yeah we want to make
sure you're happy so if you get a you get
a product that's not working you got to contact us
and we'll make sure we'll make it right all right
because i think my viewers want to see what you
got yeah so this is the new G-Tech Pro
so this is about this is five grams per year are you familiar
Are you familiar with the Stratus?
I am.
So I want you to use the Stratus, there's
a couple of leaks here, so if you've used
the Stratus you know how good of a tool it is,
and this is not to knock the Stratus I
just want to show you how small leaks
we're actually talking about here.
Eight parts per million?
Right.
Some of these are empty.
Some of them are empty.
That's the whole game.
You've got to find which ones are leaking.
I want you to tell me which ones are leaking with this tool,
how you would use it.
So that one is?
I think we're
coming up
on a minute
and a half.
Well, it looks so far, these two.
I want you to try it with this now.
Tell me which ones are leaking.
I want you to go fast.
Go right over those holes.
Put it on that hole. Go for it.
Leaker. Just keep going.
You don't have to pull it away.
It doesn't recalibrate? That one's leaking a lot.
Yeah. It'll clear to the
background just with the fresh air.
So you don't need to worry about the
lingering time. It's got a thousand, over a thousand SEC on the flow.
So it's ten times the air flow of the Stratus.
the sensor is more advanced, well do you have
to be right on top of it to pick up your leak
no that's the whole point of this so this is only five grams per year
and the point that i was
trying to make is this pump is so much stronger than the stratus pump
so when you're having issues
with the stratus or you're having chasing a ghost leak
and you need to find those really small leaks
i don't need to be the whole point is to not have you have
to be right on top of that leak because
what's the chances you're going to be right
on top of that leak? Slim to none, right?
So let's just say this is the spot that I'm leaking in the foil.
Yeah, if I'm right on top of it, it's great.
I'm going to pick it up just like that.
But how often am I just going to be about a quarter inch away, right?
And that's going to make all of the difference in the world,
especially, again, this is 5 grams per year.
If this was a normal leak that you find in the field,
you're going to start picking it up way up here.
So the response time, and the whole key to this is,
I don't need to be in pinpoint mode anymore to find
the small leaks like you do with the Stratus.
Does it have different modes, or is it just parts per million?
You don't need it. It's all in one.
This is as fast as the Stratus is in pinpoint mode,
but it's all in one mode.
And I can display a tenth of a ppm.
And it comes,
I want them to see that this is on a hose,
and I imagine it's going to
be expensive.
Can you give me an idea?
Yeah, this is pretty expensive.
This is around, well, list price on this is going to be around $5,700.
Did you say $5,700?
Yeah, that's expensive.
It is.
But I would never expect you to put them on every single truck, right?
This is for if you're really having a tough time with the Stratus
or any other leak detector,
to have one of these around to chase those small leaks.
This will actually log the leaks over time.
So you'll spit out a report showing the time,
date, and the PPM level you saw,
along with the GPS location.
Okay.
That price point makes it out of reach for most people.
definitely it's going to help the guys
who are chasing down really expensive
but it seems
to be very reactive
yeah
if you're, like I said
if I brought this Stratus
in front of this
this is not even in the
all that's a concentration
of refrigerant in there
the Stratus I've got to get inside that box
to show that I've got that leak, right?
Again, this is the difference.
I can hang out outside of this,
and I'm going to draw that refrigerant out.
So I don't need to worry about being inside there.
That's what that sensitivity and that flow is going to do for you.
And I don't need to worry about swapping modes.
So this makes everybody, unless you understand the modes,
you're not going to get the most out of the stratus.
This makes it so you don't have to understand the mode anymore,
you just turn it on and use it.
Does it have the same warranty as the Stratus,
two year over the counter?
Two year over the counter, exactly.
Okay.
And we're going to cover even the sensor on this one for two years.
Okay, you say that like you don't cover the sensor on this one.
So, sensors are technically a wear item.
If they go, we work with people,
but technically they're not supposed to.
Okay, so this sensor will be covered,
but it's got to be centered to get the place.
I mean, it's a really it's a very sophisticated
Okay, is there a chance of water getting into this and damaging?
Your detector. So this has a hydrophobic filter
Just like the Stratus. We've got a second filter right here,
and I've got two more inside the unit
So we're protecting quite quite a bit
All right, well would it damage the wand?
I mean, I think you've got so this is a replaceable wand
Just like the Stratus, 10 millimeter wrench to take it out.
All you have to do is just dry it out and put it back on
What's in here?
It's just a hose
Okay, it's just a connection and a handle
Again this is easy to take off
So if you ever need to replace this,
ever got this caught, it's easy to replace.
I appreciate you showing it to me.
My name is Nick.
Nick, yep.
I'm Curtis.
Good to meet you, Curtis.
Nice to meet you.
What channel do you guys have?
HVAC guy.
Oh, okay.
Awesome.
Very nice.
Alright, thank you.
Yeah, great to see you.
These seem to be new.
Yes, they are.
be new. Yes they are. Are they out yet?
In May. So they're coming out in May.
R32, 454 and what's this other one? 410A. That's convenient.
So what made y'all go kind of old school on these?
So there's a couple things.
One is we wanted to have a more affordable
So, it's an entryway, this is the S-Met block,
so that's the same as the S-Met, but cheaper.
And then, another thing, too, is, so I work in R&D,
and we went on a lot of ride-alongs,
so we shadowed techs out in the field,
and we noticed that a lot of techs had, a lot
of techs I talked to have analog manifolds,
at least two in their trucks.
So, we saw the need, and you know, people said,
oh, it'd be cool if there were a field piece.
They love the brand and how durable we are, so.
Yeah, you brought the same rugged build to it.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
I don't want to bother y'all, but I wanted to say,
hey, I'm a subscriber of yours, Kurt.
Well, guys, I hope you enjoyed the videos from AHR.
I don't use all of those tools,
but I thought all of them were interesting.
If you enjoyed, give me a like and subscribe,
and join me tomorrow.
think i'm doing a pulling clean on an evaporator coil
and the blower motor i'll catch you then
