Five Girls Lost and Searching for Water in the Cholistan Desert

Five women set out across the Cholistan Desert in Pakistan, carrying an empty clay water pot and hoping to find water before the desert heat becomes unbearable.
This cinematic rural story takes you into a quiet side of Pakistan village life and desert village life, where traditional clothing, mud-brick settlements, Kikar trees, animals, sand and simple household objects form the world around the journey.
As the women travel deeper into the desert, the environment gradually changes. The soft village path disappears into endless dunes, the water pot becomes empty, the heat grows stronger, and every step becomes more difficult. Along the way, we see the small details of rural life: worn sandals moving through sand, a wooden walking staff, a traditional clay matka, dry riverbeds, desert vegetation and the animals traveling with the group.
The journey eventually brings them to a twisted Kikar tree, where they discover that the situation is more serious than they first understood. What follows is a quiet human moment about exhaustion, uncertainty, companionship and hope.
