Caught in a Thunderstorm while Camping. or, Getting Outfished by my Wife..

It's got some cottages on it and boats and stuff, but soon we'll get off this. Over the course of like three or four portages and get over into some pristine lakes. Butte, you stay. Fishy. The big thing with this bug spray, everybody's worried about it, but as long as you don't put it on plastic, Not too big a deal. And sometimes it's needed. We're on the second lake now. Just finished our portage. It's really pretty. So far we are 1-1, so I need to catch more. Spanking me here. Got another fish. Don't just, don't. It's going under. Yeah, it's okay. Up here at this portage and have some lunch found a campfire pit at least some wood it's a pretty wet wood but there's some other wood around we're going to um cook up the two trout two of four trout that we caught this morning will taste good we got some fish crisps and we'll do it up in some it tastes nice for a little good beauty beauty what's this dude you want some caviar don't worry about the bugs eat this bro it's right here look you want this good amount of meat some nice color to it too yes it will fish of the year for you yep nice good sizzle good sizzle off the hop that's what we're looking for we're gonna do it the big fire pit but decided uh this might work a little bit easier less wood use this way too oh man yeah it's gotta keep up on the fire you don't want to leave your nun hat on no nun hat some people none of that none of that none of that All right. Well, I was real good when you get going this guy's looking a little daunting We had some sprinkles already, but we'll push on you saw a group of fishermen And they said that the lake that we're going to is beautiful and I said see well I told you I'm sure with this waterfall real quick. Oh, how you feeling, honey? We're all done our portages just this last hundred meters. It was very very vertical Ready to go or what? No doubt we'll grow. Check out all these tadpoles. They don't even care that we're here. We have zero frogs. Zero frogs. The F is for frog. No joke, I frickin filled up our BFree water filters here and I was like to Willow's There's probably gonna be a few tadpoles in it to her and sure enough there was one. Okay, we're gonna get going. Super pretty lake and we're both ready to get to camp and maybe take a little swim and a nap. Yeah, it really is. Pardon? Yeah? How big? Nice. nice yeah this is beauty it's perfect it's a little pool it's got a little beaver lodge and a stream coming into it should be some fish in here a little shallow though it might be the water might be a touch warm this is very it's like a its own little thing in here right just enclosed what yeah i think i think this is a rock bass it is this is a rock bass that's wild this water is so clear i watched it come up and hit the lure give a little tug at the perfect minute but a little rock bass that's uh two bass for me and four trout for will peace out bro real pretty spot kind of blocked in here like a little pool well now we're on our lake we had another portage unexpectedly but the it's it's been thundering and we see some rain in the distance and those clouds are looking a little daunting beauty fell in i fell in one foot will came way unscathed but she wants to get she wants to get camp set up before the thunderstorm and i guess I agree with that. She's scratching and biting. Yeah, so she's not really having a good time. And that's okay. She's not really an outdoorsy type dog. All that stuff's probably been bred out of her. But she is a trooper, and we'll try and keep her as comfortable as we can for tonight. She'll be in the tent. And, yeah, out here. We'll just suffer, you know. We'll just suffer out here. Well, here's the steepest most visible part, but I've been going downhill this whole time It's not a long portage. I think they said a hundred meters, but We were uphill both ways in the snow Five feet of snow some fancy footwork on these ones. Well, she got herself in the water. Look at that.
