We are learning new information about actress Selma Blair's arrest.
TMZ reports she attacked two flight attendants, biting one of them.
Michael Babcock is live from the TMZ newsroom now
with an update on that.
What happened here, Michael?
It sounds like it was just a crazy, crazy situation on this plane.
So Selma Blair on Monday was flying from LAX
to aboard a Delta flight to JFK in New York City.
On board, she is said to have injured two flight attendants
by striking one of them and biting another flight attendant.
Not just that, it just sounds like it was mayhem on board.
In fact, we've got some, you know,
an audio clip where you can just hear this blood-curdling scream.
And you can only imagine how scary it must have
been for the passengers who were on that flight.
So they restrain her, the story goes.
And when they arrive on the ground at JFK,
there are police officers that are waiting.
They take her into custody.
Now, they feel like this could be a medical incident
that she is a medical crisis that she is going through.
So instead of taking her straight to a jail cell,
they take her to a hospital.
However, as they're transporting her, the police officer
is allegedly kicked in the head multiple times by Selma Blair.
They get her to the hospital.
The violence or alleged violence doesn't end there.
She is said to have also physically assaulted and injured a nurse
who was trying to help her and trying to provide care to her.
So you've got two flight attendants on the plane,
you've got one police officer on the ground,
and you've got a nurse at the hospital who are all allegedly hurt.
So now you've got multiple state charges,
and you've also got a federal summons that she has to deal with
because if it happens in the air, that is federal jurisdiction.
It's not in any state, and she has got a lot of problems.
Now, she's got a reason.
She's got, I don't know if you want to call it an excuse or,
again, if it's a reason for what happened.
She said she was not taking her medication,
but she's got she's got a mess on her hands now, to say the least.
You I was looking at some of the articles
that you've accumulated over time about her.
And not too long ago, you had some photographs
of her at an event at the beginning of this month.
And she appeared to be OK.
Yep. Yeah, I know.
I think it's that's why it's so surprising to so many people.
I mean, she had been working.
There were no signs that anything was wrong.
You look at her social media page, everything appeared to be normal,
living a normal, happy, as healthy life as she could.
Obviously, as people may know, she was diagnosed with MS,
and that's a constant struggle for her.
And because of that, she does have to
keep up with different medications.
But no sign that anything like this was going to happen,
that she was going to have what looks like some sort
of mental breakdown on an airplane on a cross-country flight.
Talk about this, because I know when people mention Breaking Bad to me,
I automatically smile because for me,
it was one of the best shows I think I've seen on TV yet.
But we know a disability rights advocate
and actor known for his role in Breaking Bad has died.
Tell us about him.
Yeah, that's exactly right.
R.J. Mitte, who if you don't know the name,
you will absolutely know the character.
He played Walter's son.
He played Walter White Jr. on Breaking Bad.
he was on obviously many many episodes
and he i think was an inspiration to so many people
out there he was uh you know born with cerebral palsy
and never let that stop him rj did and and
he was like a 14 year old actor when he signed on to do the show
and he became a really big star and
an accomplished actor again uh he you want to talk about somebody
who would outwardly show no
signs of having any issues. That was RJ.
I mean, he was hanging out with friends. He was with
family. Everything appeared to be good.
But ultimately, he died by suicide yesterday at
only 34 years old. So sad. So sad.
And we understand, Michael, that his co-star Brian
Cranston shared a tribute to him. He did.
And you can tell he's just wrecked. And it's a pretty
lengthy tribute. That's on Brian's social media page
on his Instagram. He says he's in deep
despair he talks about
when they met as uh you know brian was or as excuse me as uh rj was a
teenager when they met and talked about being his tv dad
and you can tell he he loved him you know
uh you know hesitate to say he loved him like
a son almost it seemed like that's what their
relationship was like just because they spent
so much time together on the set and i think
he talks about the fact that they were going
to you know planning to get together in a couple of
weeks and have lunch together and catch up
and you can just feel the sadness in brian's words as he
writes about uh about his friend and about somebody
who he loved who is no longer here sadly yeah you
never know what people are going through
and i think sometimes when we think about like people
in that celebrity world we think you know you got
it all what what could it be right but you just
never know you can be smiling on the outside
and really going through it on the inside michael
