Dodgers in that all-important down two games to none.
That's game number three here.
Blake Snell to the rescue, maybe.
But, yeah, I would say Ohtani in the lineup
after hearing how they might not have him in the lineup.
Yeah, very weird situation with Ohtani,
who it seemed like had to make excuses for him playing
in that press conference that he did.
very strange uh you know impromptu discussion
with reporters almost seemingly like maybe a
decision was made and then changed look i can only uh you know sort
of look at this intuitively but
you know since Ohtani has doesn't speak
and uh you know often and doesn't really have to for him to
do this sort of tells me that he's putting a lot of it on him
and maybe it's his decision because
it certainly feels like the Dodgers probably need
to go in another direction based on how he's
playing but you know their options
are thin you know waking up this morning looking at what we
have in store I think tomorrow in particular for those of you
who watch the show I think tomorrow
is going to be great because we're going to have
the AL wrapping up we're going to have the NL
in progress while we're doing the show
and then we have of course Thursday Night Football so
tonight a lot of uh you know just talk with you
and I only really one big game I think in store
and that of course will be the National League
Championship Series where it's uh you know win
or go home for LA I mean there's no doubt about
that they don't win this one they're not going
to win the NLCS and Blake Snell will pitch of course
and and look i i think that it's been
pretty obvious to me what has really happened
in a lot of these postseason games we've had
one big comeback from uh the Brewers in the postseason
but looking at some of the stats
and the data today it really tells the story
that these games uh are pretty much over with
whoever's scoring first that's what's been going
on in this in all of the postseason so far 19 and
10 on whoever scores first
and so it really shocked me to see that because usually scoring
first can give you a percentage of well above 500
but almost 70 percent of the teams uh right now
are winning that way so that's just something
to look for tonight if la scores first on gasser
maybe that's a good indicator in terms of of them winning
but uh yeah for us uh you know i think
probably you and i will be uh talking a lot just about different issues
and injuries and spreads
and things going on and then tomorrow we've got
like some incredible action i mean for for it
feels like 1978 all over again joe you got
the alcs playing at one you got the nlcs played at six
and of course that game's really at three
so uh sunshine for both the alcs and nlcs i'm gonna
guess two games have not been played under sunshine
in 20 years in the american league
and National League in the same day at this point.
The weather caused it, obviously, if we didn't indicate that earlier.
But, Joe, it reminds me of, like, 80s baseball.
You know, these games were played during the day.
The ALCS and the NLCS, and we're back to that again.
Yeah, tomorrow will be fun.
They made the announcements early enough,
so they are banking on Mother Nature playing a role.
I mean, what was that, 6 o'clock that game
was supposed to be in Cleveland,
and they moved that thing all the way up.
to one o'clock so keep an eye uh on the forecast
and the uh weather a little cooler obviously uh
in Cleveland that it will be in LA and you know 80s here tonight
at the first pitch five o'clock
uh well five o'clock Pacific time eight o'clock Eastern time
when this game goes off so uh it'll
be a warmer night there in LA for this uh for this game three
and and listen there is a lot
of different ways this can go i
and Dave Roberts feels like at this point he's open to mixing and
matching and shuffling and doing whatever he can to try
and jump start this offense which has not
been good and it's
been terrible against left-handers i mean i i did uh i went and
checked all of it you mentioned it last night i mean they
are in their last 29 at bats against
left-handed pitching they've walked twice
and are 0 for 27 yeah i i that's just mind-numbing to me
that they are that bad against the left
and this goes back to the Braves series as well there in
that final game but lefties have not been their strong point
not that they were crushing them
during the regular season
but 0 for 27 in their last 29 appearances with just two walks there's
a problem there is there not well look some of it not all of it
but some of it i don't know what
percentage if it's five five percent
or ten percent i wouldn't go higher than that but joe
you don't have to worry about Ohtani in the lineup
at all like that's a game changer for these other
teams who's batting in front of him
who's batting behind him you always were scared when Ohtani was
come was coming up and it didn't matter if Ohtani was facing a lefty
or righty but the guy is not
hitting at all i mean those look
at those numbers 150 hasn't driven in a run in the playoffs and
and i still believe that every year he plays he's
the MVP including this one i'm wrong and
Pete Armstrong's gonna win i still think Otani
to me growing up as a kid thinking that somebody
could do what he's doing even in limited fashion
i would have given him MVP every year i still
stick by that uh but that being said it's probably boom
or bust tonight as you called the last couple
of games if the Dodgers hit three home runs tonight they win
and if they hit one home run
tonight i think they're gonna lose
and i think that i think that's the way it's going because
they are just boom or bust with the home runs they got fortunate
with Henderson throwing the
ball away from Milwaukee and a couple of errors
but beyond that i literally don't know what anybody
is seeing with the Dodgers right now joe like
like what why should they be such a big favorite
tonight even for that matter like they may win tonight like
and i get it and and this is their
best opportunity, but I am
stunned that the Dodgers are this big
a favorite against what I deem is
the best team in baseball.
