BlackRock CEO Larry Fink warns that halting America's AI
data center build-out would push the U.S. into a recession.
Fink told CNBC that a moratorium of some sort would stall
an economy increasingly built on AI capital spending.
He also flagged the national debt,
which has ballooned from $8 trillion in 2000 to $40 trillion today.
Nearly $483 million in Bitcoin
and Ether futures were wiped out over the past 24 hours
as crypto prices slid on uncertainty over the Fed's monetary policy.
Ether took the biggest hit,
about $286 million in liquidations versus $197 million for Bitcoin.
What stands out is that Ether's damage was larger,
even though its futures market is far smaller,
around $30 billion in open contracts against Bitcoin's $52 billion.
And Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan wants
U.S. regulators to oversee the firm's building on
his blockchain, not the network itself.
Yan told Bloomberg that the company's deploying
trading markets should carry the regulatory burden,
much like financial firms using internet
infrastructure. The timing matters as Kraken's parent company,
Payward, plans to offer U.S.
investors derivatives built
on Hyperliquid's technology through a regulated exchange,
even though Hyperliquid's own platform stays closed
to American customers.
