Beyond this event, she outlines a series of community-focused initiatives for the holiday season, including Halloween festivities, meals for seniors, and family adoption programs.
So now we want to get to Isha Branner.
Isha, how are you?
I'm doing well.
So Isha is with eCommunity Outreach.
So you have a project that you are lining up,
a leadership conference focused on women.
So where did this idea come from?
It came from Milana Jones, and I teamed up.
She is the District 2 Councilwoman in Pontiac.
Okay.
So I kind of undersold the idea
because it's lead her ship.
Yes.
Okay.
Look, Isha, we've had a lot of conversations about you working
with other women, not just in the Pontiac area,
but Oakland County, Metro Detroit.
You like when women who are leading nonprofits,
leading businesses can collaborate.
how do you hope to evolve with this kind of dinner
that's coming up so to your point yes i do um i
actually have a women in business working center outside
of the community services so this is
right right up my alley my hopes for this dinner
is for women to just understand that it's not
about a title you can still be a leader you don't have
to have a business um we want people to come
in and just realize that they
are super women like you got whether you are just a mom just
running a business doing non-profit
um and we want each other to just not network we want to
show our appreciation we're going to give them
a dinner um it's going to be some music playing we
got some amazing speakers that's lined up
and so we really just want uh to bring a group of women
in the room right now we got about 150 uh registered i know we got
a few more slots um
available for um them to uh register
and come on but it's just going to be a night of just
connection networking empowerment
um and yeah just hopefully some women leave out and leave
inspired no that's it no we're listening to you
so we had the flyer on the screen
moments ago i'm not sure how well that people will
be able to to read it but let people know
um the it's this saturday what time
so is this saturday um at six it's going to be at
western community center uh pretty much is where we
are in uh where one of my offices at 640
West Huron in Pontiac okay you should brought
her um we appreciate it what else you have going on
because i know we're getting close
to thanksgiving we're getting close to the holidays this is where
your heart grows three times bigger
and you love to give back to the community so what you got
planned so for right after this event october
um 30th we have our halloween event which last year
brought out over 4 000 families we got over 60 vendors
that's going to be coming in november
we're having uh we're partnering up again
with smart bus we're going to be passing out well
preparing and providing 100 Thanksgiving dinners to seniors.
And then December, we're going to be
adopting 100 families this year. So I'm super excited.
I am extremely busy these next couple
months, but it's for a great cause.
And yes, just follow us on eCommunity, our eServices page.
We're always posting what we got going on.
Isha, I know it's always labor of love. And we
appreciate when you all are able to share all
the working that you're doing with us and with the
people so uh we uh will talk to you soon
and just keep us updated uh with uh all the help that you
can do along the way thank you brandon i appreciate it anytime
