The Church Cut the Book of Enoch From the Bible.. Grok Read It and Found Out Why
The New Testament quotes the Book of Enoch as prophecy, yet it isn't in your Bible. When archaeologists opened a Christian monk's grave in Egypt, it was lying there with him. Its story of two hundred angels on Mount Hermon, the giants they fathered and the plea Enoch carried to heaven was read as Scripture by some of the first Christians, then banned from being read in church, named among the "pernicious" books, and lost to the West for about nine centuries. Only Ethiopia kept the whole thing.
Grok's encyclopedia gives the reasons everyone repeats: written late, under a borrowed name, liked by a sect. We followed the book through every ban and every return, from a Byzantine monk's warning to Bruce's copies, Cave 4 and an erased page in Berlin, to the line about the Son of Man that an Oxford editor changed. The reason the men who cut it actually wrote down is a different one, and the man who closed the door believed in giants.
