Well, I guess we're here.
I'm seeing 13 people here. That ain't bad.
Hi, guys. Let's see now. You are all okay.
So you're able to comment.
I'm getting comments. I don't know where you post.
Oh, I guess in YouTube. Let's see.
One other thing I need to do.
I need to get over to YouTube.
I need to shut this down.
I need to go to my channel.
I need to go to YouTube
studio get in the videos
need to go live and i need
to mark this members only
so all channel
members will do it unlisted
so if you got the link you'll be able to get in i'm going to save
that and we're going to monetize okay
so maybe this will be where we want to be is that possible
showing 64 people here i think what this um a
bunch of you this we're trying to do a members
only video if you're here you're welcome
to be here we didn't set this up a way that that
restricted it to members it is now
so nobody else is going to be able to get in unless they have a
link and the link is being posted on discord
if you're already here you're already here if you
drop off you're not going to be able to get back on without the link
so anyway here we are let's
see what we got here peace love puppies now i cannot do wrenches
because we are not in youtube
i can't do uh can't do a lot of things i can't post
your comment like so was i napping i was
trying to that was my plan my plan was to nap
and then i got a call reminding me that i agreed to be
here at two o'clock um it somehow escaped me
altogether to the point that i didn't even set
anything up what is my beard looks
so weird it looks like it's four inches longer on one side
than the other is that actually
or is that a reflection what is that is that written no it's
not it's a light oh well it looks droopy
doesn't it droopy i'm looking at myself
and that look
that's weird maybe if i put the light in front
of me instead of to the side maybe that'll make a
difference i guess i don't know
it'll blind me all right let's
we're really here for a little
while so let's just see if we can do something worth doing
la eerie no i was trying to nap never
got a chance to uh chaplain said i'm not a member
but you're here so hang in there chaplain the the
idea is we have people on patreon we have uh staff on discord
and we have members on youtube and we
wanted to do something special for those folks
and that's what this is unfortunately we didn't
set up in a way that um i had somebody else set it up for me
and they did it their way and i don't
know what what that is so i couldn't i couldn't get it
and capitalize on it so that presumably
is still sitting there somewhere oh but we are now on um
wherever we are where
are we we're on StreamYard
Henry hi Henry Erie Zarin hello Hill Asbury Clark greetings from
Manchester England Vanaksky is here hello Vanaksky
Melissa Skinner now i should mention we will also be back
on at six o'clock tonight from six to eight for a regular
sunday night live stream
so this is this is a special for members if you managed to get in
because we didn't set it up right you're welcome
to be here happy to have you um and we're just
gonna keep on keeping on hi Mary Valen nice
to see you jenny says everybody's here good
hi from Nottingham we got that Barbara dash drones
is this members only yes but don't worry about it
dash you're a member you're you're green i can tell you're
a member this is supposed to be
members members only we will be doing this every week
and presumably at two o'clock on sunday
afternoon so this is our first shot we've managed
to bollocks it up totally which is typical for
for years truly to completely mess things up in the beginning
and then to figure out how to do it
right so so be it so that's where we
are Erie spoiled rotten today we are oh today and every
day Erie peace love puppies abc abc aquatic
biotope creation good to see you uh integral
Bro DAB, hi.
Judy Two Moons, my tank is doing great.
Had to trim and replant in less than three weeks.
I know it's amazing, isn't it?
Good Sunday, Spinster Sister.
Bless you, Papa, says Erie.
Peace, love, puppies.
I feel special.
The Riptard, hello.
Paid members or Discord members?
Yeah, exactly.
Or Discord staff, or paid YouTube members,
or Patreon members.
So it's those three groups that we're doing something special for.
Detective Lopez, Astroon,
Zilleran says, join the show.
And Erie says, I knew he'd forget me once he was a tycoon.
Listen, Erie, that's not true.
I forgot you long before I became a tycoon.
it's not true uh integra dab i have a better
fish should i use gravel or sand you should
never use gravel never unless you're using it as a a thin layer
because you like the look of it on
top of your sand capped dirt
and substrate lighting i know it's terrible isn't it i've
got a spotlight staring me in the eyeball i look great
that's amazing looking leaner i am feeling
leaner i am i'm down to 215 from 260
so i've lost 45 pounds i'm working right now on the next 15 my
goal my goal way back when was 200
so i'm within striking distance i don't seem to be able
to get all of the all of the uh discipline together all
at once what is oh that's funny
yeah this is not like a mirror this picture
my left is on my right my right is on my left
as i look at myself i couldn't flip it
but wipe off jenny hey hey hey we did it this is all thanks
to jenny sexy father fish says eric barbara
gibson lobster yeah lobster well it is isn't it
i probably need to trim it hey
uh ahmed says kari lauda screen
main dekhna nah really main dekhna
a lot of screen main dekhna i was gifted
a 75 gallon aquarium says judy need to reseal it
As long as it's 100% silicone, I can use it.
Yeah, but you want to really clean it good.
It's a little complicated.
If you want to get on Discord, we can talk you through it.
With a tank that size, I would want to do it right.
You need to clean out the old silicone,
but you need to determine whether
the seals holding the glass together are solid
or whether they're not.
that makes a difference if they're solid you can just put
a new seam in the corner if they're not
then you have to do something else
so if you can get on to discord i'll try to help out there i'm
sure there's some other folks there
who know how to do this as well i would do that ahmad says
oh cha-cha-cha da strewns you're welcome erie
first i love the 11 11 o'clock one 11 o'clock
11 o'clock that would be brit time my six
o'clock uh peace love puppies is here from discord bravo
chuck cox good work hello father fish
and all you awesome people, says Fish and Tactics, nice to see
you, Fish and Tactics, first class fish, 58 people, 13 likes get
the like for Father Fish does this
have a like, well we are on, that's right I had
to open up on Facebook in order to make this work
but i've got Facebook private
so it's not generally available, it's only available
to those people who have the link
for those who were lucky enough to get in before i marked it
private, that accounts for some of the folks here now
so we're not likely to see this go be a much
beyond, it's at 52 or so, we're gonna probably
be there, we can, I think Jenny
has already posted on Patreon, we make sure we get
the link in community on
YouTube that only goes to members
and also on the Discord in the staff, in the
staff channel, that'll only go to uh the staff
so this is our exclusive little group, we need to do
something particularly unique here, don't begin
to know what that might be, i'm gonna have to leave it
up to you to determine what in fact is unique
for a Father Fish members channel, Abadoo says Tony
Tony Bayou Mama
will I see you again on the
Keystone Clash
Fish and Tactics at this point
I'm not planning to go
but I haven't made a decision
about it yet
I'm just not sure
I have to talk to my staff
see what they want to do
by that time
John probably will be on
full time and he'll
almost certainly want to go
So we'll see how it all works out.
Right now, I have not pre-registered.
It is in the fall, so I got a little leeway.
But I will decide by early summer, by May,
whether I'm going to be there or not.
Not many members here.
Well, that's deliberate, Dash Drones.
We're trying to keep these numbers down
so we can have something more personal for the folks
who are making a more serious commitment to the Father Fish channel.
That would be people who are donating,
people who are actually members, people who are involved
in a lot of activity as staff members on the Discord channel.
Those folks are kind of inner circles.
So that's really what this is.
This is Father Fish's inner circle.
There are, I don't know how many, probably 150
to 200, maybe close to 200 altogether.
So 57 is pretty good showing for the first time out.
We'll promote this more and do it more
and also try to make it more personal.
Day seven, planting my father fish bundle.
Planted where they're grown.
I know, Mary.
It's amazing, isn't it?
Let's see.
Good afternoon, says Tony, and says Mama.
Hola, fish family.
Have a betta and shall I use gravel or sand?
You should never use gravel.
The father fish system is built
on never using gravel.
And there are a lot of reasons for that.
If you watch some videos about it,
there are videos specifically on sand and gravel.
You might watch those.
We'll explain in more detail.
Abadu says, hi, mama.
Stan Pittman, glad you're here.
What's going to miss tonight?
It's a big game.
yes there is we may get uh we may get shut out tonight i have
to see how many football fans
are going to be on this evening we'll
be running maybe we'll maybe we'll put the game on their link
robert davis from charleston
and stan says how dare you oh
well watching the game right
You've got to understand football to get this.
I was more into football back
in the 1950s, the late 50s,
when Johnny Unitas was the quarterback for the old Baltimore Colts
and took us to what
then was not even called the Super Bowl.
It was the World Championship, and it was an amazing game.
I visited the park,
which was within walking distance,
saw some games, watched all the games on TV.
Those were heady days.
ABC, great seeing Father Fish at the class.
It was like having dinner with royalty when I saw him at the diner.
That was fun.
That was fun at the diner.
Yeah, well, it was wonderful seeing
so many friends and meeting so many new people
who I'd never had a chance to meet before.
And I suppose I really need to do that again,
particularly because it's close.
And I really want to get involved in the local New Jersey,
New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland,
D.C., Northern Virginia fish world.
so i guess i really need to do it don't i want
to build father fish set up in my refugium
under by 200 gallon that's
a really good idea uh robert really good idea dragon force
capra roux andre glad i found your channel doing
a great job thank you capra roux
You are loved, Papa, says Erie. I love it.
I love as well. Thank you. Root tabs.
What root tabs would you suggest for soil? None.
I suggest that you install the supplement,
which makes any root tab totally,
completely extraordinary, unnecessary.
there like a dagger
to the heart says erie 18 likes and 54
in the room i'm gonna buy you congrats
father you will make your goals well
our next goal is um 500 000
and i'm i don't know what's
happening it's very strange if you look at the the uh
the results of on youtube it's kind of a
mixed bag. The only thing that is growing substantially
and consistently is subscribers.
And that's fine with me. I mean, it's kind of remarkable, really.
At our current rate of growth,
we will hit half a million by the end of the summer.
So it's conceivably we could get to a
million this year. I think it's unlikely.
Unless something breaks through, and we are working
continuously to try to find that breakthrough we
do now have a second video going viral we have one
that is at two million views that's
the that never clean your tank video the second one is
the resurrection jar that is now uh approaching three quarters
of a million views in four or five
months, six months, maybe. So that's at 4,000 views a day.
The other one is at six. One year
out, it's still getting 6,000 views every day.
Just utterly remarkable. Do not begin to understand
why that's happening.
I'm only thankful and appreciative that it is. It has to do with
YouTube putting the video in front of many, many new people.
And that's really where all the
subscribers are coming from.
We now have a second video that looks like it could achieve that. Not
sure, because the new viewers really don't exceed
the return viewers for that video. In the cleaning
video they very much do it's four times higher
four times more new people than regular people
so it's not really the same hard for me
to understand it is what it is i just do what i can
do Neil van's a ram's head came in on plants
from you three to four weeks later he's dead
asking why is he dead hard to say could
be anything just impossible to know oh
he lived for a couple
of weeks it's there there
are how can I say this there
are unknowns in every aquarium there
are variations in the in the in the in the
condition of the water from region
to region area to area municipality to
municipality water table
to water table one water table may contain very high levels of iron
others very low levels of iron it depends on what's in the ground
and what that water is
running through carbonates is another example it could
be very hard carbonates in one place
very light carbonates in another then
when you get into the rare metals and rare minerals it's
even more extraneous. So in a real sense, it's impossible to know.
There are clearly fish that
will not survive in my tanks.
I've tried them over and over, and it's not pH, and it's not
temperature. It's the condition of the water.
They simply will not tolerate this water. I can put
minutes straight out of the tap, minus the chlorine,
which I don't have here, and oxygenated.
They will not tolerate it.
They may last a week, two weeks, a month, two months, but eventually
they fade away. They don't have longevity in that environment.
And that's true of every single
aquarium out there. Now, it's less true of large cichlids,
of bigger fish, which tend to be more
tolerant. Small fish are less tolerant of changes
or of variations in the environment they've come
out of versus the environment they've gone into.
So any notion that you can keep a given species
of fish, no matter what, just isn't true.
Your water, your conditions, your circumstances,
the light, the air, the everything
in your environment are going to be unique and may
preclude the possibility of certain species
being able to survive with any length of time
in your environment.
They may do fine for a day, a week, a month, two months, six months,
but eventually they're going to fade and die.
A perfect example of this is the licorice
and chocolate gouramis, the soft water gouramis.
Many of them now are being bred in captivity,
which means they are less susceptible to the vagaries of pH.
Nevertheless, there are tanks
in which they will not survive.
6-0, they will not survive. It's never one little thing.
My belief is it's a combination of chemicals
that need to be in balance with the fish.
Now, here's the thing about that.
The water will adapt to the fish.
It will actually assimilate certain biochemical
and electrochemical properties of the fish
in order to make it blend in with the fish.
So it's a mutual kind of relationship that occurs,
particularly in a tank where a fish is extremely well established.
The water is in balance with the fish.
That's something we know, in fact, nothing about.
We know it exists.
There's been sufficient research to determine
that that condition actually exists.
We do not know how to duplicate it.
We do not know how to create it.
We can't even replicate it given
the impulses that it puts off.
We know it's true because it has been measured.
So we know there is that distinction,
that refinement, that condition in which water
and the fish become unified in some very fundamental way
that makes the environment uniquely supportive
of that species of fish
and for that matter,
those species of fish that are in that environment.
Beyond that, it just really requires a great deal more research,
a great deal more effort to try to determine what
in fact the nature of this is. There have been
a number of luminaries in the field that have come
to that conclusion independently of each other
that in point of fact the water does change
to suit the needs of the individual species
living in it so i i challenge you to to to look
at that to work toward that it's very clear to me
that this tank meets the criterion
for that condition this tank has been set up in its
current configuration for nearly for well
for a good 15 years it has had some water changes but
frankly not for about a year and a half
and even then the substrate and the base water
remained the same so that while there
were some changes they were not total changes and as you
can see the fish the fish are remarkably healthy
and they've been in here some of them for 10 years
or more there's something else in here i want
to try to show you i don't know if we're going to
find it actually to put a little food
and i could probably make it happen there are some
bluefin killies in here that have white spots
on them hold on a minute let me try to get this
put together i'm going to put a little food
in because i want to draw them up and see if we can spot
this this guy we're looking
for a bluefin killie i don't see one right now there's one
he doesn't have what i'm looking for there's one maybe two
that have uh like two white spots on the
on the uh port side there's one right there see
that white spot on that fish i don't know if you
can make it out we'll try
to get them back up where it's all tangled up here yeah that's a
a little better not much there yeah that's him
he's got a white spot on him that that white spot
has been on him for at least six months it doesn't
change doesn't get better doesn't get worse
it just sits there that one's more like
a blotch there's another one that is actual spots there
two of them that have this no other fish has them
as i say they've been in here for six months
i have run across this before
and in my research determined i wonder if that's him back there
no it's not it is a virus it is not it
is not a um there there he is right there there's
one. Well, that's the one we looked at.
There's another one with two spots. I think on the same
side. Anyway, it's a virus.
The virus is a relatively
permanent fixture on the fish. It
doesn't come and go. It doesn't grow.
It establishes itself and it stays there.
It does not grow into
the body of the fish, it is superficial.
It can be removed. You can take it off with a pair of
tweezers or scrape it with a knife.
It can be removed. I haven't taken these out of here
because I've really wanted to observe it long term.
I had it on some fish about 10 years ago.
It came up on two or three fish in a given tank.
So at one stage, it was viral. The virus was viral.
It established itself on three fish and remained there.
I think I removed it after about three months, two to three months.
Was able to actually scrape it off.
They were larger fish, never came back.
If you see a large white spot,
do not assume it's anything that you need to do anything
about. Until it becomes two or three or four or more spots,
then you have to do something about
it. But one spot on one fish is not cause for concern.
It is cause for being alert,
for paying attention, for noticing it,
for looking for it, for seeing what it's doing.
It is not a requirement for action, and action
is never a good idea at that specific point in time.
You need first to know what you're dealing with.
It may be nothing.
It may be a wound, a scar.
It may be a tiny worm parasite or like a hooked parasite, a gill
fluke that could simply attach and then unattach and be gone.
In a tank such as this one that has a food web
and a deep substrate, the likelihood of any parasite being
able to multiply there and achieve sufficient numbers
to become a problem in the tank is virtually zero.
And that is to say, in nature,
in a natural environment,
it is rare to the point of never occurring that it,
for example, becomes sufficiently viral
that it kills a population of fish.
That virtually never happens,
and the reason is when the parasite drops off and goes down
into the substrate, either it or its eggs or its babies,
when they hatch, are eaten
by other parasites, the types of parasites that eat parasites,
or for that matter, eat
other microfauna.
Most parasites eat microfauna.
There are very few that attach themselves to macrofauna such as fish
or snails or whatever.
Not to say they don't exist, they clearly do.
Unfortunately,
an aquarium that is being maintained
as a clean aquarium with little or no life in it
other than the fish themselves
and whatever nitrifying bacteria is allowed to grow in there,
but no micro fauna to speak of, that tank,
given the incident of a single ick parasite,
will, in a matter of two days, multiply into 140,
and in two to three more days, multiply into 140
times 140.
That's why we get infestations of ick
in clean, otherwise healthy aquariums,
because they do not contain the microbiota sufficient
to be able to naturally control
that parasite. In nature, that is the nature
of the microfauna system, of the food web,
if you will. It controls the explosion of a given
species populating beyond the point where
anything much else can survive.
That virtually never happens.
When it does, it would be because
that body of water has become polluted,
and pollution can occur in any number of ways.
The pollution can simply be the killing off
of the majority of microbiota in the environment.
If that happens and the fish are not killed off,
the microbiota are not killed off, then
the potential for a parasite to establish itself,
one that feeds on macrobiota like fish.
The possibility of that happening is substantially higher.
Now, eventually,
even though that's all been killed off, it will return.
It will reseed itself by either environments near it
or simply whatever is blowing in through the air,
through other kinds of material falling
into the water in all kinds of ways.
it will reestablish and it really will not take long
for it to reestablish a matter of a few months
three to six months in a relatively barren environment it will
be reestablished there
was a fellow who did a video and i don't remember
who it was he put a container of distilled water
on his porch and then observed it periodically.
The first thing that happened was a leaf fell in
it, and then some insects fell in it,
and then a water beetle, I think, got in it. In six months,
it was full of life just from what came
in literally through the air. So it doesn't take
long given the opportunity for any system
to become a broadly diversified natural food web.
What prevents that from happening
is husbandry based on trying to create a pristine,
sterile environment.
A sterile environment is hostile to sustaining life.
And I think
frankly, many of the fish that are lost
by new hobbyists for unexplained reasons.
The reason
is simply that there is not the establishment of microbiota,
of microorganisms that provide
support for the environment that that little fish is living in,
in order for it to be able
to sustain itself. So the reality is that our fish
absolutely require microfauna in order to be
healthy. Not only do they feed on it,
they depend on it for the purity of their own environment.
They depend on it for keeping waste cleared and clean.
They depend on it for the balance
in the system. They depend absolutely
on a widely diverse food web in order to be healthy.
Now, you may believe that you have a discus
in a sterile environment that you purge and clean
faithfully every week, but I'm here to tell you
that you can try to keep that fish in that sterile
environment indefinitely.
But at some point in time, you will fail.
And it may only be a single
moment that you fail. And in that moment,
pathogens will become involved in that tank
and will kill those fish.
It happens absolutely 100% of the time.
It is why most fish die.
A fish, by and large,
does not age.
It does not have an aging gene.
It dies from disease, from predation, from injury,
from starvation, and from poor quality
or other problems with the water involvement.
That could be something as simple as heat or cold.
but it may also be pH. It may be the chemical balance.
It could be anything involved with the
water. Those five reasons are the reasons that fish die.
They don't die because they become old.
Fish do not become old. There are fish, documented fish,
eels, for example, well over 100 years old.
There are sharks, cold water sharks,
documented upwards of 500 years old.
Fish will live indefinitely until something happens to them
or to their environment that
will cause them to die.
That is true in your fish tank.
The fish die because something went wrong
or maybe something did not go right.
that there was something wrong with the environment
or with the fish, some effect on the fish that caused it to die
and not some genetic characteristic.
There's a caveat, of course.
There are genetic conditions.
And we see this in hybridized fish, in very hybridized fish.
A good example are the glow tetras.
or the glow, actually the glowfish, the original
glowfish, has been spawned from a very, very tiny
genetic sample that was repeated over and over
and over and over, literally thousands of times,
And as a result, has built in for one condition,
a condition called bent spine,
that shows up after about eight or nine months in the fish,
in which its spine literally begins to curve.
And it reaches the point where it can no longer survive.
That curvature has become so profound that it's affecting
the neural network and affecting the ability of the fish to swim
and to feed, and so it dies.
That's a genetic condition.
It's not a natural one, certainly, but it is one that we've seen
in which a fish dies by virtue of some genetic problem.
Barring that, however, fish don't die because they get old and tired.
They die because something is wrong.
What that means is that you can protect your fish by
providing a very rich, diverse environment for them.
And the more diverse, the better.
The people who disclaim doing this are the people
who are operating out of a sense of fear.
They fear parasites.
They fear pathogens without knowing what a parasite
really is and without knowing what a pathogen really is.
50% of all microfauna
are parasitic. 50%.
Amoeba are parasitic.
Paramecium are not,
but Daphnia are Daphnia. No, Daphnia are not.
Mosquito larvae are. Mosquito larvae are parasitic.
They actually will kill Daphnia.
There are other microfauna that are parasitic.
Anything that captures is parasitic.
It's seeking to capture something that's moving.
It's not simply feeding on what's lying on the bottom.
Anything that catches, anything that eats bacteria
is parasitic, if you consider bacteria a living organism.
And I do. I mean, I know better, but I do.
For the sake of being able to get along with nature, I believe
that bacteria is organic and has essentially a life cycle.
Okay, so there's all that.
That simply points to the necessity of creating a food web
in your environment, not only to provide some food for little fish,
but to provide a healthier environment for them.
If you want a genuinely healthy environment,
it must be a diverse environment.
A very narrow environment cannot be healthy
because it is too susceptible to any kind of change.
So throw it way off track and create
a condition that will create sick fish.
There is more disease that occurs in an aquarium than occurs in nature.
There are diseases that occur in aquariums
that cannot be found in natural environments.
It's not that they don't exist there.
They do because they come out of there,
but they are so uncommon and in such infinitesimally
tiny portions that they're never found.
And ick is really a perfect example.
It is extremely unusual to find an ick parasite in a wild,
natural environment.
It happens, but it is extremely rare
and only occurs if something is wrong with that environment
that has broken down the microfauna
to the point where it can no longer control those
parasites as they begin to multiply.
That's a big, long lecture, and it's one you guys
really need to get a strong, clear handle on,
because it will give you the confidence
to be able to bring
in whatever natural environment you have access to and install it,
install it in your tank.
Now, obviously, there are big things like dragonflies you may not want
in your tank, unless you've got big fish,
and then there'll be food for it. There are things
that are obvious. What's obvious is easy to deal with.
But what is less obvious are the microfauna
that control other microfauna by virtue of their parasitic behavior.
So don't try to keep all
parasites in your tank there are parasites you very much want
in your tank because they will
keep your tank healthy all right where are we we
are at 2:55 we've been here better than half an
hour we promised to do this for half an hour i will
do this every week it will be strictly for
you folks who are uh who are supporters of our channel
and i'll try to get more in-depth about
specific issues that we need to be concerned about
and give you an opportunity to kind of
dig dig down into it now before i go let me take
a quick look at the chat and see if there is
anything there we need to talk about i'm just going
to read through this in my head quickly
and I'm going to turn the light
so I can see it.
If you inadvertently came in and want to be a part of this,
you can sign up on Patreon.
It's, I think, $3 a month.
And that'll give you access to these live streams.
We'll be doing them every Sunday afternoon.
For now, I may change that maybe to Saturday or something,
but for now, that's what it'll be.
Do I ship to England?

Neil wants to know what football is.
It's an obsession.
Football is an obsession.
Operator says it's a Taylor Swift conspiracy to take father fish fans.
That's true, too.
Getting rid of gravel saved my fish.
I now have fasting sand.
Zillerin says, there I paid.
Good man, Zillerin.
Live in Texas.
Jesus first, football second.
That's about right.
some people put family
in front of football but
most probably
really don't. Family
has to learn to get along. Talking about
football.
Freezing
Sand. Was that, yeah, that's
Dash Drones has loved
to see
the channel growing.
Where for someone who's not connected
to a corporation.
Oh, Cassandra says Salisbury
is across the bridge from where
you are. You're either in
Cambridge or
Ocean City, if there's only one bridge
Error means Island.
Error.
Erie.

And it means Ireland.
Error.
Neil Vance.
Can't figure mollies to survive in my water.
Very hard to.
Yeah, you know what's weird?
I have collected green sailfin
and mollies in water that had a pH of 5.0.
And they were spawning in there, a healthy population.
So you tell me.
All right, I'm going to.
Do I think that drip acclimating will increase
the survival rate of fish?
I noticed they're running through.
Just plop and drop.
Well, drip acclimation occurring over
a period of days is effective acclimation.
You cannot acclimate in one day.
It takes two to three days minimum.
So a drip acclimation that is slow,
that takes days, will be effective at acclimating.
And yes, I would assume that would help the fish
to adjust its biochemistry to the condition
of the water that you're wanting it to live in.
Bluefin is my favorite silver perch.
Yes, they're pretty fish.
I've got some males in here that are in breeding color, too.
They're really lovely.
