Life in Happyland: A Visual Journey Through Manila’s Trash-Fueled Slum
In one of the poorest corners of the Philippines — a country ranked among the world’s top plastic polluters — residents of Happyland survive by scavenging through the city’s garbage. Entire families, including women and children, depend on what they can find in the waste: scraps of food, recyclable plastics, anything that can be sold to nearby junk shops. In this slum built on trash, survival is a daily battle, and dignity is often the price.
