Dodgers Favored to Sign Tarik Skubal, Padres a Sleeper

You mentioned Screwball here and what happens with the Dodgers. Who do you think is the favorite to sign him? Mets, Dodgers, Rays? Maybe somebody off the reservation that will be in a conversation for him. Padres possibly could be in that conversation as well. Who do you think is the favorite to get him? I think so the Dodgers would be the favorite. Dan, you just don't know what's going on with the legal proceedings and stuff with the owner of the Dodgers, Mark Walter, how much money they're going to have to spend. I think he signs early. I think he signs before the lockout. So you mentioned the Padres. That's my sleeper pick, Danny. New ownership. He lives in Arizona. He's from Arizona. He wants to stay out west. I don't see him going to New York. I really don't. It's not his cup of tea. I don't think the David Sterns like to spend that kind of money long-term. Contracts for pitchers anyway. So I don't see them jumping in. I could see the Cubs possibly knocking on the door here. But the Padres could be a sleeper. And I think the Giants could spend money that way, too.
