It is a fall tradition that has been bringing thousands
of people to Far Hills for more than a century.
Well, the unique part is it's 105 years.
Not many institutions last that long.
Started very small, a lot bigger now, and it's a great community event.
The Far Hills Race Meeting is back this year
with racegoers gathering on Moreland Farm.
For many, it is more than just a day at the races.
It is a family tradition that's been passed down through generations.
I've been coming to this event since before 1980
and I've had this spot since 1982.
And decades later, three generations
of the family are still sharing the same spot.
My mother was the one who got these spots,
worked her way all the way up to these spots
on the finish line, so I was always happy about her.
But beyond the races, the event has a bigger purpose.
Over the years, the Far Hills Race Meeting
has raised more than $22 million for local
health care.
six beneficiaries and we're so proud
and happy of the relationships that we have
with them and giving these community events money
from the community that we
raised from this one day event a year
that we give back. They have supported
many programs over the years including our surgical areas,
our behavioral health
services and most recently
and most generously to our oncology patients. The
event also brings opportunities
for vendors to connect with the crowds. I
I have a lot of artwork that features horses and equestrian styles,
so this seems like a really good place to be for me.
105 years later, the tradition continues, all for a good cause.
Gotta come. You can't not come. It's the best event of the year.
