My little ones, I'm Luna and this is my friend, Twinkle.
There you are, Caden, warm and soft.
I'm so glad you are here with me tonight.
How was your day today, little one?
It's all finished now.
There's nothing left to carry.
Have you ever been ever so sleepy, so cozy,
that you found the softest,
warmest spot you could.
Held right up, drifted off,
lovely heavy-eyed feeling
of finding just the right place to rest.
There's a gentle old story about
a little girl who felt just like that.
Come along with me into a quiet green wood
Where a cozy little cottage waits among the trees
You are resting warm
in the soft moss
At the edge of a quiet green wood
In a gentle
morning there's
a snug smoke
Rising soft from its chimney
The cozy cottage
left three bears
A great big puddle-sized mama bear
And wee little baby
They were kind
and gentle,
happily together, in their snug
little home in the woods.
Sweet, it was a little too hot to eat just yet,
Papa Bear said.
Go for a gentle walk in the woods while our porridge cools.
And so the three bears went strolling off,
trees in the soft morning light.
That same morning, a little girl was wandering in the woods.
It was Goldilocks, for her hair was all soft golden curls.
She had been walking a good while,
and she was growing tired and just a little lost.
And she came upon the cozy little cottage,
its door standing open and the sweet smell drifting out.
She called softly, but no one answered.
Being tired and curious, she peeped inside
with three bowls of porridge.
Goldilocks was so hungry.
She tasted the great big bowl, but it was too hot.
She tasted the middle-sized bowl, but it was too cool.
Tasted the wee little bowl, was just right.
Warm and sweet.
And she ate it all.
Goldilocks was feeling tired,
and she looked for somewhere to sit and rest.
She tried the great big chair, but it was too hard.
She tried the middle-sized chair, but it was too soft.
She tried the wee little chair, it was just right.
Snug. She settled in with a happy.
She was grown ever so sleepy now.
And so she went looking for a
soft place to lie down.
The little stairs where three beds stood in a row.
She tried the great big
bed, but it was too firm.
She tried the middle-sized bed, but it was too billowy.
The wee little bed,
It was just right.
Snug and warm.
Had been waiting just for her.
A wee little bit soft but gentle.
Eyes grew heavier and heavier.
Was so quiet.
Was so warm.
And in no time at all, little Goldilocks drifted softly,
deeply, sweetly to sleep.
The three bears came home from their walk.
Cozy cottage.
Papa Bear said,
Someone has tasted my porridge.
Mama Bear said gently, And mine!
And someone ate up all of mine.
It's all right, said Baby Bear.
They noticed the chairs.
The little moved about and wondered who might have come to visit.
Little Baby Bear climbed the stairs and there,
just asleep in his own wee little bed,
was a sleeping girl with soft golden curls.
But the bear, they did not growl or fuss,
only looked at the sleeping child and smiled.
Mama bear whispered softly,
Why, it's only a tired little one,
who lost her way and needed somewhere to rest.
And they let her sleep a while.
The warm little bear did not disturb her.
At last Goldilocks woke, shuffled and rested,
and saw the three kind bears smiling gently down at her.
She was not afraid.
They gave her a little present
and showed her through the woods
and waved her, baby bear had a new friend.
For Goldilocks came back to visit many a gentle afternoon.
And Goldilocks walked home through the soft green wood,
warm and rested, thinking what a cozy little cottage it
was and what kind bears lived.
How lovely it is, my little ones,
to find just the right cozy place.
Soft and warm and snug and rest,
just like you are now.
Rosy little cottage grows soft at its edges now.
Goldilocks and the three kind bears
and the quiet greenwood drift gently away.
The story folds itself up softly,
and tucks itself away until another evening.
That's the one for tonight, my little ones.
You did enough today.
You were enough today.
Where you belong, sleep soft.
Another, you rest,
you sleep.
And easy the whole through.
Twing.
