Welcome back to What's Good Detroit, where we talk about all the good happening in and around our city. Our next guest has a passion for fashion, an incredible fashion line that you need to check out if you haven't already. Joining me now, we have Sianna Treese, the owner of the Sianna Treese Collection. Welcome. Thank you. Thank you for having me, Jamie. Of course. So let's start with where and when did your passion for fashion begin? I like to say it officially started in 2011. That's when I did my first fashion show. But I've been doing this my entire life. It started with fashion illustration and me just drawing and drawing clothes and then eventually wanting to make the clothes. So I've been doing it pretty much my whole life. Wow. And what was it about fashion that just made you fall in love with it and want to do the sketches and come out with your own collection? Well, I think it's, too, just a part of being an artist and just seeing your work come to life. And clothing just makes people feel so good, not only on the outside, but from the inside out. Did you have any people, models, designers that truly inspired you growing up and further made you want to be your own designer? Well, you know, I've been growing up with a lot of women in my family. I've always looked up to my mother, my aunts, my big sister, older cousins. So I've had a lot of fashionable, you know, fashionable ladies influencing me my whole life. So, yeah. Yes. And tell us about the Sianna Treese collection. Describe it for us. Tell us what can people expect if they're shopping your line? Well, my line, I do a lot of custom pieces. I do. I specialize in evening wear, special occasion. I do a lot of bridal and prom. So those events where you really want to stand out, you want to make a statement, those are the things that I specialize in. Yes, and you really do have some beautiful and unique pieces. Walk me through the process of how you come up with the designs and then execute them. Yeah, well, I do everything from start to finish. So that means, you know, coming up with the concepts, sketching it out, drafting the patterns, picking out fabrics. I do all my sewing myself and it's just starting out with an idea and an inspiration and just kind of, you know, working it and figuring out how it will come to life on, you know, a model or, you know, in our everyday life. And from what I see on your website, they've all come together so beautifully, like blown away. uh talk about the you talk about the process how long does that execution take from the moment it becomes an idea and you do the sketching and you get it ready for someone to wear and model yeah it can take a while um i like to have it at least two weeks to work on something um but you know it just depends on the project if it's a more detailed gown of course we would want to have more time with that maybe even you know no less than four weeks you know but something quicker sometimes you just want to get that idea out you know i would say like two weeks wow what can you tell us about your latest collection that you've recently worked on my latest collection is it's very glam i do a lot of glam it's a lot of gold metallics a lot of bling that's something that i love we all love bling yes love me some bling yeah so a lot of that um you can find at um my sister and i we just recently opened a gallery in royal oak so i have a lot of those things on the rack there so you can come in and shop some of those looks and congratulations if you've been tuned into the show before you may recognize uh sienna trees her and her sister they have the artistic expressions galleries they do the champagne events and how was the grand opening the grand opening was wonderful we were just blown away by all the support and all the people that came out so we're really excited for this new chapter that's incredible and you're located right in royal oak right yes downtown royal oak right on 11 mile be sure to check them out so we know uh fall is in full swing right now so let's talk some fall fashions what are some fashion do's and must-haves in your opinion in my opinion we love that i mean we love fall that's when you can really layer you can do textures, we love leather boots, I love a pea coat, I think you can do it, dress it up, dress it down. Hoodie season, we love hoodies, um yeah I think you can just kind of really express yourself and you know you can dress things up or down, you can do a nice sneaker or you can do a boot and it and it works. In your opinion, what's trending like what if you don't have it, you need to get it for fall I would say you would need something animal print, I love animal print, anybody that, that's familiar with my line knows I will throw a leopard you know print in there but I think it's a really good accent piece and it's almost like a neutral so you can pair a snake skin leopard print even zebra with anything and just kind of you know add a pop, I love a good leopard, I try not to get too excited and overdo it You can easily overdo it, but I love me some leopard print So let's talk about the fashion do's, the fall fashion don'ts We did the do's, the don'ts What do you want to avoid? Are ponchos still in? Does it depend on the type of poncho? I think it depends on the type of poncho. Honestly, I think with fashion, it's all how you wear it, you know I think we're kind of in this place where people are expressing themselves and, you know, it's not really a whole lot of don'ts. It's just how you do rather, you know. But, yeah, ponchos, like I said, you know, the textures the leathers, the, you know, animal prints, of course, color I do think maybe a don't would be like extremely, extremely, you know, bright colors and the florals and things like that. But even that you could mix in, maybe just do a pop, you know, with some of your more fall colors. So it's all how you do it. It's all how you rock it And when you talk about fall colors, what are the colors that people should be focusing on incorporating into their wardrobe so that they're not bringing like spring fashion into fall so that they're doing it correctly? What are some of those color palettes they should follow? Yeah, I think you can always just get if you're in doubt, just look at nature and see what nature is doing. We have the browns, we have the oranges, we have kind of like the the marigold yellows You have a nice plum kind of maroon on so those type of colors are always going to be the go-to and you can't go wrong with black i feel like black is that one color every season every season of course i'm in black now so yeah it looks great especially with your hair it's just giving fall you fall fashion is my favorite i the cooler temperatures make me a little sad because we know what's next but like you said the layering the colors the boots let's talk boots are we still rocking the boots with the fur boots with the fur I mean we're in Detroit yeah so we wear our furs we wear the boots um I think boots kind of just elevate you know any look um and there's a lot of different I know some people get a little intimidated with heels or you know different things but it's so many different um even kitten heels yes the kitten heels are making a comeback exactly and it's like either you love them or you hate them but either way they made a comeback so listen i love them because i can walk around much longer with the kitten heels compared to you know the the six inch heels oh my goodness and it's more comfortable for snow and different weather but you still have more of a dressed up look so especially if you're going to an event and you have to you know troop it out the entire event in those heels the kitten heels they will they will definitely get you through right they will so where can people check out your collection i know you have your shop you have them at the Artistic Expressions Gallery in Royal Oak but if they want to do a little online shopping can they do that too sure my website is sianatrees.com and you can also contact me via social media my instagram is at the Sianna Trees Collection and what are you working on next do you have any ideas yes well we're stepping into holiday we're stepping into prom season so i'll be very busy with the holiday looks and my prom girlies oh looking forward we'll have to bring some prom girlies into the studio and showcase the collection in real life for people to see it's a very exciting time absolutely well Sianna it was so great to hear more about your fashion line the Sianna Trees Collection and to actually see them online beautiful designs can't wait to see them in person but thanks for joining us thank you jamie absolutely
