Obviously, Kate Tyson had
a whole argument about that case earlier today.
As a coach, waiting to see what you can maybe do for your coach
or your leader,
how are you maybe talking him, guiding him through what I would imagine
is a difficult part of the process?
Well, you probably don't want to listen until I can talk for 20 minutes
about how I feel about this whole thing
and the whole situation nationally.
It's just, it's chaos.
I would say in Cade, you know, I just,
I don't know if a young man could handle the situation
any better than he is.
He's just a great guy, man, and it's a tough spot to be in.
I mean, he's here having no answers,
not knowing what's going to happen.
I think that's really, really difficult for him.
I know he had a really hard time today having to sit
and watch this and not be able to play,
and it's a it's a mess
and you know i listened to a lot of things here today and you know guys
complaining about the rules and this and that and you know
when this all started and we as coaches
were a little bit you know first
of all i don't really care what we think you know you might think
they do but they don't um i think a lot
of coaches we knew it wasn't perfect but we were in favor of
this five for five rule but boy
then they just kind of ambushed us and just put it on us and
say all right we're starting it now
and by the way this class of 2022 is not eligible and it's
just interesting to me because they fall under
the purview of this rule they did say they weren't
going to be eligible but then you could see right away you're like wait
a minute like they were
going to have a problem legally with that class
um we weren't going to take anybody um and then
as you started to look around the country
and you could see that um schools were taking fifth year
players and the only kids in this 2022 class
and then they were becoming eligible so my problem
with it is you know they don't have control of it right now
so yeah they have a rule but they can't
enforce the rule i mean you have at least
as of today unless it's changed you have over a hundred
I think there's like 300 some kids that are currently on rosters
and over a hundred of them
are eligible this is going
to have major ramifications around college basketball and I
understand some people are like well we didn't take one
of those guys why should we be punished
we tried to follow the rules um but there
are no enforceable rules doesn't matter what the NCAA
rules are only as good as what you can enforce
and I just feel like we're in a situation right
now you can think about it we're going to go
to Cincinnati here early in the season they have two
guys where their best player maybe one
of the better players in the Big 12 MJ Collins is going
to be eligible to play and another kid
in the rotation K Tyson's under the exact same rule
and he's not going to be able to play?
I mean, those things have major ramifications.
I'll talk about a guy I care about, Langston Reynolds.
Langston Reynolds would be one of the best players in the Big Sky.
He's currently eligible.
If he plays, Northern Colorado is a dramatically different team.
How would you feel if you were Montana State?
