Welcome to your early Monday morning.
I'm meteorologist Keith Marler. Thank you for clicking
on Fox Local for a quick forecast for this Monday and beyond.
As we head on out, fairly clear skies coming off of a, well,
what was a very gusty weekend initially turned into a beautiful Sunday.
Highs in the 50s on Friday, 60s on Saturday led
to a high of 70 degrees for us into the day on Sunday.
Now we are going to take a slight step back for the day to day, barely.
An average afternoon high would be the mid 50s.
57 is an average high for this time of year. We're going to head
back to the middle 60s today.
Not quite as warm as our Sunday, but still really pleasant and mild
for the day today. Ample sunshine,
a stationary boundary parked over us, fairly clear sky,
a few thin clouds, but a very light breeze overall.
Into the day on Tuesday, more sunshine,
a stronger southern flow lifts us to highs
in the upper 60s, to near 70 in the metro,
low 70s in southwestern Minnesota,
and we're talking 60s up north, and then widespread
temperatures back to the 70s as we go on into the day
on Wednesday. We put it together on a
Forecast then for today, sunshine at a high 66 in the metro,
mid to upper 60s in southern Minnesota,
low 60s to the north and 50s right along the lake
with that breeze right off of Lake Superior.
Winds are very light.
Overnight tonight, overnight lows should
be in the upper 30s in the metro now
for this time of year into tomorrow morning.
We'll see those 30s up north, but nothing widespread frozen,
which also should be the case,
40s across the better part of our viewing area.
And then into the day on Tuesday,
highs in the upper 60s to near 70s,
committing to the 70s in southwestern Minnesota.
And then we, too, commit to those 70s by Wednesday,
Thursday, Friday with plenty of sunshine.
Just a small chance for a couple of drip drops
by the upcoming weekend by Saturday as we keep
those temperatures well above average for this time of year.
I'll have an update coming up right around noon.
