NBA season getting ready to kick off here.
Taking a live look outside Pfizer Forum.
That's right.
Not only will the Jonas Brothers be playing here
in just a couple weeks, November 1st.
Yes, I am excited.
But the Milwaukee Bucks getting ready to kick off their regular season.
They're going to start away on Wednesday,
taking on the Washington Wizards.
And again, then the home opener, which is a couple days after that,
taking on the Chicago Bulls on Friday 3 p.m. we
are so so excited for this they did move up that
time so if it's seeming wait that's
a little earlier than i thought the game was the Bucks
want you to be able to cheer on the Brewers
as well again this is an entire community
so excited for this World Series run
so they did actually move that game from 7 p.m to 3 p.m
to take on kind of that very close rival, the Chicago Bulls.
And I always joke, but even if you don't necessarily like basketball,
there's something for you with this season, with Pfizer Forum.
Perhaps it's your foodie and you want to know,
well, what's going to be on the menu?
Well, we have that answer for you right here on Fox 6 Now.
I want to go ahead and bring
in our first guest joining us live from inside Pfizer Forum,
Dustin Godsey joining us here.
He's the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer.
Dustin, how are you guys feeling?
We're so much closer to basketball season starting now.
We are. It's an incredible week for sports in Milwaukee as a whole,
but we're excited to get the season started.
And this morning, we always kind of start off tip-off week
with showcasing the new food items,
so we're excited to share that today.
Yeah, I can see some of the sneak peeks behind you right now.
Walk us through some of the new offerings, because I always joke,
But, like, long gone are the days of just expecting
to be able to find a soft pretzel and a box of popcorn.
You guys are creative with your menu.
Yeah, certainly.
You know, the hot dogs and the chicken tenders
and all those things are still going to be here.
But we definitely always want to create some new items
and some new things for fans that are a little bit unexpected.
Try some different things that are on trend, some things like that.
We've got a lot of great new items this year.
You know, a spicy chicken sandwich,
new Palermo's Roman-style pizza stands that are going to be out there.
My personal favorite that we've sampled as we went through
and did our tastings this off-season
was the King's Hawaiian Churro Bites.
Just incredible, something you wouldn't necessarily think about,
but you take those King's Hawaiian pretzel bites and deep fry them
and get the cinnamon and sugar in the condensed milk.
It's really, really incredible.
I think it's going
to be one of those things that people are going to see
and start sharing and wonder what that is.
So a lot of new fun items.
My mouth is watering looking at those churro bites.
I mean, how much work goes into crafting this menu
and coming up with new options for your fans season after season?
Yeah, it's something that really goes on all season long
and really year-round as you're looking at what new trends are,
as you're looking at the dirty sodas and things like that.
But we really, before the season even ends,
we've started digging into the data.
We're working with our culinary team, and we're
looking at the items that are selling well,
the things that maybe we tried that didn't go as well,
and the things we want to shift off of a menu.
and then we go into and we really spend
the entire off season you know what our culinary team is doing
in terms of you know creating some
of those new items going through a lot of testing and and
sampling of those things and making figuring out
which ones are going to make the cut which ones
maybe are almost there and we'll bring in for a special opportunity
or special game or substitute
in if something doesn't perform like we want
so it's really a year-round thing and and the off
season is really that time for us to to focus
and and be creative absolutely and i mean it is
Wisconsin, after all,
so I know a lot of the fans also enjoy maybe an adult bevy or two.
Any new drinks you guys are adding to the bar menu?
You know, I think for us, it's really
working with our providers, our partners at,
you know, Casamigos and Jack Daniels and Absolut
and all those to continue to innovate and go through.
But really, as we, you know, lean into
more on the canned side with the hoop teas and,
you know, the neutral seltzers and things like
that that continue to be popular yes okay i have to ask
because obviously we're getting ready for
a new season we are so excited for the new food options some
of these new drink options we're
also kind of ushering in almost a new era
of the Milwaukee Bucks what is kind of the vibe here
we've got a ton of new players we've got
a new head coach, I think we're ready for this new chapter
yeah, I think the the excitement level is is really high
as we go into this, you you nailed it exactly
we're going into this what we're calling
the next great era of Bucks basketball and really starting
to build that out. Coach Taylor Jenkins has
been incredible as we've gotten to work with him and
really understand what his philosophy is going
to be throughout the offseason. And you get a guy
like Tyler Hero coming back home
and being able to play in front of his home team crowd or hometown
crowd. And Ryan Rollins and all these guys coming back,
I think we're going to have a really
exciting, energetic young team,
which is really going to be fun as we build in through the season
starting at 3 o'clock this Friday at home and right on through,
hopefully, into the playoffs in April and May.
And mentioning that new start time for Friday,
how important was it for you guys to try and make it work
to have this game start and finish before Game 1 of the World Series?
Again, it's different sports, but it's one city, one community here.
Yeah, it was really a no-brainer for us.
As we started to look at what the schedule
was going to be for World Series
and especially for that game one.
And it looked like it was going to become more and more a reality.
Obviously, you don't want to jinx anything ahead of time.
You know, we talked about it.
It was obvious for us.
We really want fans to be able to, you know,
maybe clock out a little bit early on Friday,
come down and enjoy the tip-off to the season with us
and then cheer on through the night,
whether that's hanging out here down at Deer District
or, you know, hopefully making your way down to American Family Field
to watch game one of the World Series.
It's going to be a really, really special day for Milwaukee sports.
I'll say we are crossing our fingers for not one,
but two Milwaukee victories come Friday.
Again, I am so excited that the NBA is back,
that the Milwaukee Bucks are back.
We're going to have basketball once again at Fiserv,
For anyone who's maybe never made it out to a game,
what are some of your absolute must-dos whenever you're
at Fiserv to see the Bucks play?
Yeah, I think, you know, coming down here,
it's really special just with Deer District
and everything going on with all the bars and restaurants.
You know, you can really make an entire evening of it.
So we always encourage fans to come down early, check out, you know,
all the establishments in the area, come in, check out the artwork
in the building, get up to the panorama club up on the upper level,
which is open to everybody and really gives some incredible views.
It really is, you know, I think even though we're eight years, eight,
nine years into the life of the building, it still is really one
of those world-class facilities and really an opportunity
to experience the game in a much different way than you might expect.
absolutely okay if anyone out there i don't know
if you're going to answer this question but it's
fun i promise if anyone out there is looking
for maybe a new favorite player they need to get some
new gear to cheer on this new era of the Bucks
do you have any recommendations for some new players
that we can't wait to get to cheer on you know i think
a lot of people are going to start to
pick their favorites and see
who it is i know you know my son wanted the the ryan rollins jersey for
his birthday i think brayden burry's you know looks like
a and nata ment both you know look
like they're going to have incredible rookie seasons.
And then, of course, Tyler Hero coming back home.
So I think there's a lot of opportunities
in addition to all the players
that have been here and the new guys coming in.
Absolutely.
And, again, we are just truly so excited.
Bucks about to kick off their season,
that home opener coming up on Friday
against the Chicago Bulls.
Dustin, thank you so much for joining us
and giving us that sneak peek at the new menu items.
Appreciate it.
Thanks, Haley.
