hey guys if y'all remember
this one i just replaced an evaporator coil on it
this is a callback um they said it's been freezing up
and um we're about to find out why
here we go sincerely
hope it's not a let's put
these in here sincerely
hope it's not a leak
looks like it's just
been running all
right there can
be um a couple things
that can cause it to
freeze up low on freon i just checked the filter
the filter is good it looks like it's a couple
weeks old let's check the blower set
the cooler lid aside let's pull calm
and loose real quick
i'm really just wanting
to check the blower
right now click
on the run right
here two amps the
blower
seems to
be doing
okay
indoor
blower
1.8
contactor
back on
410 i sub
cooling
high
super
heat
y'all see
that high
sub cooler
makes you
think it's
overcharged
and low
super heat
makes
you think excuse me high super heat makes you think it's undercharged
and that right there
is why that TXV is clogged
when i did the repair
my dryer because of the
way that dryer is right
there i didn't want
to um cut it
so i unsweated it
so there's
but if we can
replace it's not
going to replace just our head
because we just did a repair let's um get them a new TXV that's
what it looks like it needs well guys um i went ahead
and ordered a TXV but i think i'm going to
come back tomorrow when i have um more time
and i may remove all the refrigerant
and pull a deep
vacuum and recharge with virgin refrigerant
um because moisture in the system can cause that to
happen too. I think I'm going to try that first
and then if that don't work I've already got the
TXV on the way. It's under warranty.
So to be continued. We're going to turn it back on and
try to recover
that last little
bit. My um
my Schraders
are out.
They're up here.
I'm going
to use my my Fieldpiece vacuum
I swear I can almost never find
this piece right here because
I don't want to spend a lot of time
on this and that Milwaukee is really nice to have but um
It can take a little bit longer. Especially
if you're not sure you have a tightly sealed system.
I'm already down showing microns
I think other people have suggested
not to close the ballast until it gets to like
2500 or 3000 something like that.
I have no reason to argue with them about it
So let's um, let's wait just a little bit longer to close that off
Seems like I have
been out here forever.
That don't look milky.
This is taking a while
all right i'm below 500 finally
if this were going faster i'd probably shoot for 400 350
something like that but it's
not going faster so um i need
to figure out the weight 93 y'all can
see that 93 ounces that's what's fixing to go back
in there all right that's still been running
all this time it's been about five minutes i had
to take a couple phone calls i know i got a deep
vacuum i've got refrigerant
bled all the way to here
and all the way to here
and we got to get
93 in there all right i'm gonna try just jump
into i'm gonna try just jump into um green because if
it's set to cool that's a pro 3000 thermostat
if it's set to cool it um it's already connected to
yellow the TXV but i
was second guessing
myself thinking i had
put some moisture
in this system
an easy repair it should
not take very long for taking
so long to pull a vacuum um the whole job
could be done about an hour hour
and a half all right somebody convinced me that that was not a
complete waste of time i'll be back
when i have the TXV good morning guys it was 45 degrees when
i got up this morning i hope it warms up a little bit
but it was a good excuse to bring out my
favorite jacket we are finally going
to replace the TXV
for that unit up there here we go all
right i'm gonna try to make this a little bit
short i have already recovered all my freon
and um fixing to remove my schraders and put
in new dryer and new TXV got my nitrogen on braze
both schraders
are out let's get
this little piece
right here i'm gonna
go ahead and replace
this little piece right here too i thought about using one
of those extended copper dryers just
cutting
it
off
and
putting
a
coupling
there
it
is
and
solder
this
one
up
right
here
just
on
those
now
we
got
this
one
over
here
and
that
one
over
there
Get
to
You
know
I
probably
could
have
Just
put
all
of
this
together
minus
that
piece
right
there
I
think
we're
good
Right
We're
gonna
test tightness and uh put up some of this like
that i don't ever put that up until i know i'm
done with it all right i think let's let it go
to four minutes if it stays at 0.2 i'm happy the last
time i pulled a vacuum on this it took me over an hour
so i brought this up here and i'm gonna do
my best to try to pull
a vacuum as fast
as i can all right 0.2
this is the setup
that i was working
on the other day it does seem to put a lot
of weight on this right here this is an adapter
that you can buy that goes from three quarter
to excuse me three eighths to a quarter and this is
an adapter that i made that goes from half to a quarter
but they do make hoses that go from half
to a quarter i mean it's half on this end
and a quarter on this end and i've ordered one but right
now wait a minute
this right here
can't be right
and some oil
on it some kind
of way let me go
clean this and we'll get it
started, oh good, we're pulling down nice
and fast, sort of rested that up a little
bit and i wanted to uh to mention that if you
ever have to unplug your your reversing valve
when you plug it up, so i can get where yall can see
be extra careful when you're plugging
it up because it's really easy to push too hard
and bend those capillary tubes and the next day
you'll be doing a reverse on that, all right i tried
to clean that out real good but um it seems
like it's not
going below
that so turn
these off
real quick
let's see what
we get down
to with that
under 600 here in just
a second, under 600, 594 i think the
reason that i had to pull a vacuum
so long last time is because
because of this i've tried multiple times to clean this thing out good
and i'm not real sure what i need to do to try
to remedy that situation well i got this up here
right on the vacuum pump and it's reading
a deep vacuum i did have to shut it off to do that but um
as you see i'm down to four about 440, i got some time
so i'm gonna let it run a little a little
longer, let's see it's been two
or three minutes already got
that one disconnected
i think we're
doing pretty good all right now if i remember
right it's 93 ounces i was just out here the
other day 93 ounces right
there you know i lost these i
um oh my word i can't reach it
i lost these and um i replaced
them and then i found them so
um wireless i'm gonna pair them
with my my
gauges here
oh ah but i
weighed it
in now better
than what it
was before it
was down
like psi 55 i think i'm getting
this because it is so cold i'll
leave it like that all right now
we're running it in heat
in the middle of putting
my schrader's back in looking
really good i'm happy
with that repair these people aren't going to run the heat
when it's this temperature
they kind of like it cool inside but this repair
is done well guys i finished that job this morning
and i thought i would add a little footnote here
at the end you may ask um how do you charge a
customer for something like that and i didn't charge them anything
that could have been perceived
as my fault maybe it was but um so i did it for i did
that for nothing so i've just got labor and
that freon in it and uh i would
also add that as a business owner
this isn't how uh most christians
would act you do something nice you might want
to might keep it to yourself and don't tell them
about it that's between you and god
but um or if that's how you believe but um as a business owner
if you do something nice like that for somebody
no charge no labor no nothing you tell them you
did it you make sure they know
and it'll earn you some return business this happened to be for a
a big rental company that gives me a lot of business
so either you send them a bill that
um with zero dollars explaining what you did
that way you can document you were there and
you know you've done it or you just tell them hey i'm gonna have
to do this and i'm gonna cover it
that uh that's basically what i
do and it's good business practice it works
Thanks for watching guys, and I'll catch you on the next one.
