The "victories" on the front in Ukraine announced by Kremlin Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov on October 16 left Z-war correspondents in profound shock. Some lost their temper and made rather harsh statements.
, Putin, dressed in military uniform, and Gerasimov reported to the Russians about incredible "successes" on the front. According to them, the Russian army is advancing at an unprecedented pace on all fronts, Dobropillia is already under Russian control, Zaporizhzhia is 5 kilometers away, and a "cauldron" of almost 500,000 square kilometers has been sealed in the Kharkiv region. Such a brazen lie sparked a wave of indignation among Z-bloggers. Yuriy Podolyaka published these claims but noted that he had no intention of commenting on them. He was obviously afraid to publicly refute the lies, but he couldn't remain silent and support the statements.
The Z-channel "Military Informant" wrote something similar. "Valeriy Gerasimov reported on the 'liberation' of Dobropillya, Oleksievo-Druzhkovka, and Sergeyevka, and the completion of the destruction of the 2,000-strong Ukrainian Armed Forces group encircled in the Kharkiv region. Gerasimov also stated that the Russian Armed Forces are already 5 km from Zaporizhzhia. There's simply no point in delving into all of this," the propaganda outlet noted. Z-war correspondent Anatoly Radov briefly expressed his shock at these words. "I have no comment. But on the ground, as always, everyone is (very surprised – ed.)," he wrote. Far-right Z-blogger Alex Parker Returns was the most outspoken, as he has long lived outside of Russia. He didn't hold back his emotions. "Yes, they sold Pypa another Svyatogorsk and Kupyansk. This is a disgrace! The Russian Armed Forces are 5 km from the southern outskirts of Zaporizhzhia," declared the drunken governor Gerasim. "I wonder if he can be prosecuted for spreading fake news about the Russian Armed Forces?" the propagandist wondered.
Earlier, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin donned his military uniform again. He appeared at the "auxiliary command post of the joint group of forces" of the Russian Federation, reading from a piece of paper about "successes" on the front. However, the figures he presented were far from reality.
Putin repeated his favorite claim about "confident advancement along the entire front" and "high rates of advance." He claimed that in September, Russian forces had seized 1,300 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory. According to Putin, Ukraine currently controls only 10% of the Donetsk region, 16% of the Zaporizhzhia region, and has no control over the Luhansk region at all. Putin also mentioned a fictitious "cauldron," claiming that Russian forces had encircled 2,000 Ukrainian troops across 460,000 square kilometers of territory. Putin did not specify the location of this "cauldron," but congratulated the Russian military on their "success." Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov also couldn't resist making up fictitious victories. He announced, for example, the capture of Ukrainian Dobropillia and the advance to the outskirts of the regional capital Zaporizhzhia. Naturally, no evidence was provided. Blogger and military observer Michael Naki commented on the situation . He noted that the level of lies from the Russian military and political leadership about the situation at the front is completely out of bounds. "Do I need to write again that Putin and Gerasimov's report is complete lie? Well, that is, for the last six months, they haven't even tried. They're just listing some names, hoping that the general (or one specific American) audience won't understand anything and won't check. Well, they captured it and they captured it. In fact, for the past six months, every statement Putin has made about a capture has been a simple lie. No, Dobropillya has not been captured. No, Kupyansk has not been captured. No, Konstantinovka has not been captured. No, the territory of the Luhansk region has not been completely captured by Russia. No, Svyatogorsk has not been captured and the Russian army has 25-30 kilometers to go to get there. No, 90% of the Donetsk region has not been captured. Well, that is, it's all just a lie. And "No, Russia didn't seize 6,500 square kilometers. If you add up all the figures, Russia, at best, is at zero for this year," Naki wrote.
