Early voting began this morning
and it runs from now until Sunday, November 1st.
You can vote from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.,
except October 27th and 29th, where you get an extra four hours.
And as News 12's John Craven reports, turnout is already high.
At Norwalk City Hall,
the lines were long for the first day of early voting.
I was so excited about voting this year
and I wanted to be one of the first people here.
She isn't alone.
We've had almost 300 voters so far just this morning.
In Connecticut, the marquee matchup is the race for governor.
A new Sacred Heart poll gives Governor Ned Lamont a 23-point lead.
We certainly don't like complacency.
What we're trying to do is remind people that your vote matters.
But Republican Ryan Fazio, casting his ballot in Greenwich,
says there's still plenty of time.

because voters should have an opportunity to see Democrat
and Republican nominees for the office debate each other unscripted.
So far, early voting has gone smoothly,
but some voters are on edge after a suspicious powder
was sent to the Connecticut Secretary of the State's office.
Connecticut did receive four such of those envelopes,
but they were intercepted by the Postal Inspection Office.
Similar letters were sent to Connecticut's two senators in Hartford.
Some voters wanted to cast their ballots early, just in case.
They've been saying things like, you know,
people are going to try to disrupt
these elections using whatever means they have at their availability.
Casting a ballot in an election like no other.
In Norwalk, John Craven, News 12.
