They may be not be the cleanest, but places around New Jersey need their porta potties — especially on the Fourth of July. This Keyport, N.J. company sent out their potties to places along the shore where businesses need them, and where patrons do their business. From deploying to cleaning, porta potties make their journey on one of the busiest weekends of the summer.

When I rebuilt after Sandy,
I thought I built enough bathrooms, but you know what?
You never have enough bathrooms.
Using it yourself, what do you want to use?
I'm going to give you what I use.
Stupid things.
Toilet paper.
Who talks about toilet paper?
Probably started
with ten porta-johns.
It's been about 40 years.
We have a lot of people that want units for the weekend,
and we try to get them out there
because that's where the extra money comes in.
Of course, with this weekend being 4th of July, it's just, it's crazy.
You know, besides being out on the road pumping them,
and besides being out in New York cleaning them anymore,
everything else falls on my shoulders.
You need to be a multitasker.
Here we go, this is mine.
I'm here 4:30 in the morning.
4:30 in the morning to 5 at night.
The Port-A-John guys start at a quarter to 5.
When we try to give good service, clean units,
we just try to do the best we can.
I see the line in Donovan's,
the bathroom line, backed up.
I know they have the backup Donnys out here.
A little, like, hidden secret within
the Donovan's, you know, crowd, if you will.
Memorial Day weekend, July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend,
I rent porta-potties from them, and they're just great to deal with.
When I rebuilt after Sandy, I thought I built enough bathrooms,
but you know what? You never have enough bathrooms.
I think the porta-potties are useful.
I try my best to stay away from them.
I will hold it until I actually go.
Some of them are small, you know,
and sometimes there's no way to, you know, cleanse your
hands afterward, and sometimes they're just nasty.
When it comes in really nasty or filthy,
believe it or not, some guys, they'll take a dump
on the toilet seat, put toilet paper on top of it,
close the lid so you open it like surprise.
Then that's nasty, but once I get it clean,
that's the best part is when I'm finished.
I always want the floor clean
because you have to step in, you don't want to step into
a dirty unit.
Then I like to make sure the toilet area is clean because if you spray
the urinal and I power wash everything, pretty much that's it.
Think about the next person that has to come
in and use it. Don't think just about yourself.
I'm not against using porta-potties.
It just wouldn't be my first choice.
I'd agree.
We went up to the bathroom up there to change,
and it was closed. They were cleaning it.
Even though it's not the nicest option, it is the backup,
and when you need it, it's always there for you.
