Let's talk sports now, starting with the Dawgs.
UGA on a break this weekend after a tough loss to Auburn last Saturday.
Many of you were watching the game
and talking about it on social media.
Let's take a listen to what head coach
Kirby Smart had to say about this.
He spoke at a news conference earlier today.
We've started getting ourselves better,
doing a lot of looking within, self-scout,
and got a lot of goals for this week.
We got the players in yesterday and got some good rehab in,
got some walk-through in, and then we'll practice today like tomorrow
and then practice again on Thursday before we give them a break,
a much-needed break, and then get ready to come back
and start up on Florida next week.
So that I'll open it up to you guys.
Kirby, I had a question in the second quarter on Saturday
when getting ready for Peyton's field goal, Gunner goes off the field,
comes back, what sort of happened there,
and then what was the thinking on not using a timeout right there?
Yeah, we do that every day at practice.
We have what we call a four-hour field goal.
We work that in terms of speeding things up
and trying to make sure we go quickly.
Gunner thought we were punting and just came off the field
because it was a little bit longer of a field goal,
but I've never thought to burn the timeout for me
because I don't really believe in burning timeouts
when you need them for extra possessions.
I regret using the timeout for the fourth and four with the hard count,
but we felt like that one was worth it
because the wind was in our face.
The wind was with us on his kick, so we decided not to use it.
We do have those hurried kicks every day in practice,
so I feel good about that.
All right, head coach Kirby Smart speaking there.
The Dogs are back in action on Halloween for the Florida-Georgia game,
a very huge game as well.
That will be at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Kickoff is at 3.30.
Again, that is on Halloween, and, of course, we'll be there.
