Hey, Coach.
We hear a lot of coaches talking about winning the bye week.
I'm curious what kind of points of emphasis
y'all had heading into the bye week
to make sure y'all are refreshed
and healthy through the back half of the season.
Yeah, one, the schedule, Chase, how we set it up.
We played Florida Saturday.
The players had Sunday off.
The coaches were going to work,
but Sean Elliott talked me into giving the coaches off on Sunday
after the Florida game too, so we gave the coaches off.
And then we got in here, but we already had
a plan to not practice on Monday,
just meet and review the Florida game.
The coaches worked hard three days that week of, you know,
self-scouting, kind of seeing where we are as an offense, defense,
special teams, areas of improvement for each individual player,
what we're doing well on offense, defense,
special teams, what we're maybe not doing well.
And if we're not doing it well, what's our plan to fix it?
You know, making sure that the defensive staff,
offensive staff, and special team staff, you know, put that together
so we're all on the same page.
And then being able to get healthy and get out on the road recruiting
and continue to promote Gamecock football.
So I feel like we were able to do all of that.
So I feel like we won the bye week, you know.
We'll tell, you know, or we'll find out how, one, how we play Saturday,
but two, you know, recruiting and all that.
But there's no question we challenged
our players after the Florida game.
like we haven't arrived we've got a lot of work
to do and as good as the Florida game was there
was a lot of stuff in that game that wasn't good
that we need to correct and fix and we went we
worked hard on that last week
and we're still a work in progress like we're nobody's sitting
around patting ourselves on the back
and all comfortable because we we beat Florida we got
a lot of work to do and we need to be a whole lot
better against Tennessee than we were against
Florida and I feel like last week we got better
and now the challenge for us is going to be to
continue to get better this week, too, going into the Tennessee game.
