London has some of the most bonkers and ridiculous food trends out there let's be real but some of them might actually be worth your money today we're going to be putting some of those to the test and see whether they're going to blow your mind or just blow your credit card bill we are in Soho guys Berwick Street is the place to be they have got everything all right spot number one and just by that van we have Takiya i think i'm saying that right is their second location the other one is over in Covent Garden and they have got some bread that hopefully they've still got in stock yeah first stop i think this is going to be a good one look at these salt breads they've got i like the little cabinet different examples i think i might have to go for the matcha that one's got like a i don't know like a sweet glaze to it oh wow and then this one is corn i might have to try that and then there's savory ones as well look at that one it's got like a hot dog yeah beautiful display in here Americano matcha latte all right and in geo me sorry guys vanilla matcha latte and they've got okay sparkling matcha we're kicking off today with matcha and then this is what we came for salt bread original added dipping cream all right three pounds and then they go all the way up to six pound fifty blimey all right me but yeah they make proper matcha they're so friendly and it just came flying out the conveyor belt i missed it how cute is that my gosh it was busy in there so i could not film but yeah this looks amazing i haven't mixed it yet, the lady that was so lovely she was like have a sip first and then mix it so don't mind the lipstick, here we go people, nearly missed my mouth, jesus, oh in my defense the lid is like okay, oh i went for normal milk rather than oat milk but it's still really really creamy, quite a subtle matcha flavor and yeah, a nice little tang of vanilla and then i think she said it was like a soy bean crumble or something on the top, oh that's nice, it's almost it's like a dessert people, oh flipping heck all right, let's mix it people, i like the logo right what am i mixing at the bottom, don't mind the bird poo on the side, do you know what that is bloody gorgeous, oh hang about, it is more of a creamy drink rather than a really strong matcha flavor do you know what my friend said to me the other day do you like matcha and i was like Karen, i actually don't know so if you are not crazy on the very earthy flavor of a matcha, we would recommend, obviously it's got vanilla and some other bits in there, sometimes i don't know what i'm ordering guys, but that is definitely worth it, how much was this, oh hang about, i think i'm gonna give that like an eight out of ten, i thought that was really nice and i do like the little crumble on the top, definitely feels a bit like a pudding, look at the little branding, yeah they had like a pin for sale in there adorable so this was six pounds look oh oh flipping out this is heavy also i ordered two oh no have they not put both yeah i ordered two i ordered a matcha one all right maybe i'll have to go back in and get it or get a refund but this is the corn salt bread look this is heavy guys this is heavy this is it's got some weight to it all right let's see what this is all about apparently these are amazing i thought that was going to be like full-on like bread all the way through but it's not it's hollow and then it has i think it must be on take my glasses off gosh it's getting a bit dark now isn't it and then it's got i think piped in it some kind of corn filling and the actual bread have it on its own i think it's savory i feel like this is playing with my mind a little bit but you've got pumped in there this kind of almost like custard okay the corn and the corn on the top is throwing me right so i'm gonna buy it because it's sweet savory but also you've got bits of corn inside so when you're eating like the creamy texture you get the kind of pop of cooked corn that's really odd very creamy not too sweet really really not too sweet actually if you're looking for a nice little cake to fill a hole this is the one it is quite a lot of money but overall that's really interesting yeah i really like that the outside is actually quite substantial so often with like cakes and stuff they're just falling apart i mean if you've seen me eating cakes on here but the generous piping on the top all right out of 10 i'm gonna give that an 8.5 i really really like that we might go and see if i can get the matcha one but yeah very nice this happened in another video i did a bakery one didn't i where we went to some of the fanciest bakeries in london matcha cream 570 not in the box not in the box oh well thank you they were so sweet and apologetic all good so i have got the matcha one that is 570 it looks like it looks like a little like a bug or something like a cartoon bug you could put like little googly eyes on it okay matcha here we go again heavy dense with the outside look at all of that creamy filling yeah it's got like a matcha glaze on the outside very very very very very creamy i'm gonna be real with you it might be a bit too earthy for my personal preference however obviously if you are a massive matcha fan go and get that i feel you could cut it in half and share it it's quite a lot of cream actually um but overall i'm gonna just say that this one isn't for me personally i'll take it home a little too earthy earthy i think i like my matcha with a splash of sugar and flavorings which probably makes it not matcha i think i'm like that with coffee you know when you're like oh yeah i love coffee i love a frappuccino it's that kind of thing right on to the next spot which is literally um next door i don't think it's fair for me to give that a score because i'm openly saying that i'm not sure i like matcha do you know what i mean but Tokyo i'm gonna say is definitely worth the hype oh god these things are coming back all the time now yes 8.25 out of 10. does it huh does it think that i'm turning the corner what's it doing oh my god these things oh has it got a person in it do they just sit there and let it anyway these things are coming and i've shown you a few times Waymo some say that the best burger in france in particular paris is dumbo and it is here in london this is a apparently one of the best smashed burgers money can buy so let's go and see if it's really worth your hard-earned money there's just so much good food down this street now look at this with like the open window and stuff what a vibe it's got loud music but let's go in all right we have got a very simple menu quite literally a cheeseburger for 10 pounds a burger why would that be more money 12 quid french fries you can read and yeah it's a real kind of clean vibe in here very very nice oh yeah get yourself some asahi beer while you're at it it's fancy when they've got some Aesop hand wash by the thing good idea toasted brioche buns and the man over there is smashing the burgers up look how thin they go oh we get two patties by the looks of things with some american cheese and the toppings they've got sweet and sour barbecue and ranch dips very nice yeah this is a vibe to sit here very nice i had this whole plan right that i was going to do all these like super cozy autumnal places but the time of filming this i think the week this is going up yeah literally is going to be autumn it's still so mild appreciate it's still freezing cold in the morning going to work but yeah this is so nice and about eight ish minutes later and i really appreciate that you do get the wet wipes to clean your mucky paws we've got a beautiful huge huge this is massive glazed toasted brioche bun oh my gosh music is blaring but it's a vibe and then you've got pickles onions mustard tomato ketchup you could ask without it and american cheese and then you do have i'm gonna use my fingers it is mine too oh my god they're boiling i was going to show you them separate we've got two very thin smash patties there this is absolutely boiling it's like 70s funk music in all these places this looks so good i'm just going to film myself everyone is loving these oh no oh no wait it's so squidgy that brioche bun is so fresh of times you get brioche buns right and they're a little bit chewy really really nice and warm little bit toasted actually toasted oh my god this is actually incredible people i don't know if it's the quality of the meat it's a little bit salty but it's got like a little bit of like a crisp around the outside on the actual burger which i don't think i've really had in many places if at all very very moorish oh my gosh it's a little bit sweet with the bun with the red the the onions camera can't even get it in focus it shook look at that people look at that i'll be be real with you i made a video quite a few weeks ago now where i went and tried loads of weird burgers in london and i kind of not like a massive massive smash burger fan i don't know if it's the mustard sorry for the boom in the background it is a vibe in here honestly this 70s music i feel like dancing um i don't know if it's the type of mustard or the type of ketchup it is so gorgeous american cheese this is something i'd usually go for but it just honestly blends together so well i think the brioche bun and the quality of that meat really makes a difference and the little crispy bits on the outside of that beef burger amazing i appreciate 10 pounds is a lot of money but well yeah when you go to like five guys that tastes well you saw it's so fresh i can't believe how good that bun is and it's a really good size i appreciate they've obviously smashed the burger down um to make it very very big in in um in width but honestly for 10 quid i think that is such good value especially for the area and you're obviously not paying service charge you can add a tip if you want which i did so the guy was so nice guys that is totally worth the hype 9.75 9.75 i know wow okay also four quid for an asahi can i don't think it's too bad right and just around the corner we have Panadero which is gonna be our next spot this is a very popular filipino bakery there is one item that i really hope they still have in stock in the afternoon i'm not gonna say it because it's not there but they have loads of amazing options Blimey, it is windy. Let's get out of the wind. Yeah, the window's open. I'm loving this. Oh, it smells so good in here. They've got all the trays. All right, they have got quite a lot of savory options, actually. Corned beef hash sandwich. We're loving all these sandwiches at the moment. We've got breakfast sandos as well. I think these are all day. You can get tater tots. I feel like this is actually quite reasonable. £4.40 for a latte. And then you can get the specials with the creams on the top. mango dream okay i love that they have the examples of the baked goods out almond croissant 450 moving along the line garlic pandesal i'm not sure i'm saying right four quid look at the cookie and then this is what we have to get the ube donut oh look at this with the colorful coffee machine this is so nice in here also it's so clean and tidy it smells incredible guys they had sold out of what i wanted to get which was this crazy sausage roll, gonna put a picture up we will be back at some point but yeah they have this bonkers um like soy sweet glazed sausage roll and they said that they usually sold out by yeah like late morning at lunchtime that's my fault i couldn't come out any earlier but they have another item that i have seen all over my for you page and we had to get it because look at the color of this hold on so this is their ube donut this was four pounds I don't know that I've had ube before apparently it's native to the Philippines and it's got like an earthy slightly nutty and also sweet flavor and there's a lot going on in it guys I feel like is that why is it so windy all of a sudden what is going on are you going to fall off I don't trust this GorillaPod at all and I don't trust my microphone I don't trust this tree don't trust me buying cakes in shops so yeah ube apparently is in quite a lot sweets um which i didn't know should we go for it oh super thick and creamy or yeah very creamy i was just having a look so I had to google that um apparently it's quite comparative with like a starchy potato or something like that ube um but yeah it's a little bit sweet definitely got a bit of a i don't know i feel like it's a bit more vanilla actually than what i thought it was going to be i think i thought it'd be fruity but there we go we're on a journey together guys that is really nice the actual donut is lovely jubbly i mean you can't go wrong with a donut i feel like i should have got so i got some napkins it's fine it'll blow away in the wind there we go a decent amount of filling the light's going but look at the color of that and that i believe i guess is all natural i'd have to put a picture up of what maybe i've already done that what ube actually is very nice generous filling four quid obviously is quite a lot of money but to try something a little bit different yeah it's not too sweet actually again a little bit subtle um on the flavor i do like a subtle cream flavor i think i'm going to give that a seven and a half out of ten i enjoyed that and i definitely will go back for some other bits also the lady served me who's absolutely lovely i think sometimes because i didn't get paper receipts i never know what their names are and i feel like i should ask but she was such a gem she was really really lovely and i was like can i film a little bit and they were like yeah cool oh my days hold on a minute your girl is learning all right we're becoming a professional food vlogger we've got the the wet wipes because you know ever since the incident with the McDonald's and the hot honey I had hot honey in my camera for about four videos and in my hair oh my god am I presentable I do feel a bit sick now not gonna lie but I'm gonna say Panadera that is cute it's definitely off the beaten track look I mean I'm literally right by a car park it's um down one of the side streets really really nice and I'd say reasonably priced as well and there was a sign actually and think it said at the weekends no laptops which honestly made me so happy because so many times there's a lot of clips that you guys don't see i go to film like you know i'm like i like to show the vibe of the place what's it like do you go there with the girls you're going with your parents you're going there on a date or on your own and um quite often it's just like a glorified starbucks where everyone's just sat there on meetings um i appreciate that i work from home a lot but kind of kills the vibe but i do appreciate that they've done that it was a long way of me saying it but Overall, that is definitely worth the hype. We're going to have to come back for the sausage roll. I'm so annoyed. That's my own fault. I couldn't come out any earlier. Anyway, are you still hungry? On to the next. Pizza and frozen cocktail, 15 quid. That seems like quite a good deal. Yeah, all these open windows. I think I've never really noticed it going down here. They said I could film the pizza. Oh, it's got like a pulled pork or something on it. That one. I think I'd pick that one. Yum. Yeah, there's a lot of places doing now. Loads and loads of different dips. Truffle mayo with your pizza. Chili mayo. oh i do like a bit of salami on mine oh they've got loads oh oh the classic looks good Genki is definitely somewhere i'd recommend for matcha i think i put that in a video many moons ago now oh gosh i've got water on you sorry guys and purple ube oh hold on a minute that's better isn't it okay you can see now and a wolf and badger that's a fashion shop i didn't know they had actual stores um i'll be honest with you i buy most of my earrings from there i usually have to filter by price because i can't afford most of the website but yeah definitely recommend and i want to show you Saltwater it feels like a very reasonable place to buy sushi as like a grab and go pick and mix and you can actually select what you want rather than having like a whole box do you know what i mean where half of it you don't even want yeah the place with these windows i can really i'm ignorant to these windows didn't realize so they're only a couple of months old yeah okay you don't have to have fish these are actually really really big try not to hold on there we go there we go i'll stand in the window reflection so they've got loads of veggie ones tofu these massive rolls these look really rather lovely i don't think i can eat another one chicken schnitzel teriyaki gosh look at the color of them they look beautiful don't they oh blue fin tuna spicy kuei oh this is so lovely what a fun idea i definitely think this is a very reasonable way what are we talking one forty each a reasonable way to maybe try sushi if you've never tried it before little bluefin tuna some seared salmon very nice and it looks really rather lovely yum indeed and if that's not your thing they've got some chicken as well this is not an advert i just walked past it and thought this looks like rather nice indeed i have to say that those spots were absolutely fantastic i actually had two more places i've actually got like 10 more places to show you guys but your girl i feel a bit sick i don't know how these food vloggers do so much in a day but yes i oh my god guys i've left my brown paper bag that had the food in where did i leave it oh that'd be gone that'd be gone i just accidentally littered with two salt buns half my burger oh no do you know what sucks is i actually need to go food shopping and that was going to be like my dinner whoops ah oh what a wally okay on that note i think maybe i need to just go home and and and tell myself off um but yeah there's loads of cool places and i have to say yes these viral ish places was totally worth it they were worth the hype and i'm really pleased to see that there's loads of new places coming all the time yeah saltwater a couple months i definitely am gonna have to try that at some point i feel like my niece would like to go there little pick and mix pick and mix sushi but i hope you enjoyed that was it bonkers it was absolutely fan bloomingtastic i can't believe how good that burger was definitely add it to your list for 10 quid and yeah i'm gonna roll home now guys so anyway did you enjoy this video i'm gonna do this one i like making these kinds of videos i'll do this one probably every few weeks because there's so much good food in London and obviously i'm in Soho i need to get a little bit over to East London i know i know i know sorry guys um and uh yeah show you some more food and drinks anyway we're gonna stop waffling as per usual and i will see you in a few days time food reviews every Tuesday at 6 p.m and out and about i don't know doing something fancy on Fridays at 6 p.m to mark the weekend anyway comment below subscribe and i'll see you in a few days time bye guys I do feel sick.
