They say it best, don't they?
Oh, that sounds so good.
The end of the road.
Certainly the end of an era.
What?
Yes!
No!
It's so hard to express how much we're going to miss you.
Thank you.
Like a lot.
I mean, it's so surreal right now.
It really is.
I'm going to miss you guys.
I mean, yeah, it's just, it hadn't set in yet,
but just some of the things running through
my mind, I'm just like, this is the best part that,
you know, that we go through each morning
is talking to each other and being around each other.
Definitely going to miss that for sure.
Oh, my gosh.
Well, as we end our final 6 a.m. newscast together,
here are some parting words from some of the folks
that you've worked with behind the scenes.
How about that?
They know the real stuff.
Yes, they do.
Including a blast from the past.
You're not so distant past.
Okay.
All right.
I'm heartbroken.
Hey, Ron.
Even though I've only known you for such a little small time,
I want to say congratulations.
Enjoy your retirement.
And just don't forget about us here at Fox 5.
I don't even know why we're doing this
because you're not going nowhere.
Like, I don't know why we're doing this right now, but I don't know.
Hi, Ron. This is Angelica.
I just wanted to say congratulations on your retirement.
You were always so nice to me
when I was a production trainee, very patient,
and now you're patient still with me as a new writer.
So I just wanted to say thank you, and I hope you enjoy relaxing.
I just want to say I know we've only known
each other like a short amount of time,
but you've always been super nice, super kind, and super patient.
I'm going to miss our little chats about sports,
especially our favorite sports teams that I won't name,
but congratulations again, and I wish you the best.
I still just feel some type of way that you want to leave right
when I'm doing this set.
I feel like that's personal, but I'm going to let it slide.
Hey Ron, it's Britt. Thank you so much for welcoming me with open arms.
Since my first day that I started in April of 2022,
you always embraced me and I just love your magnetic energy.
You've always been a pleasure to work with.
And I just want to wish you the best on your retirement.
Retirement. And yeah, you deserve it.
You just deserve to relax and enjoy this next chapter.
You've always been so kind, despite, you know, being a Braves legend.
I just want to say some of my favorite moments with you has been you
and all your commentary
and my trending stories in the seven
and all the hot topic topics in the eight.
And I'm going to miss all of your different socks every day.
Thanks, and have a great next chapter.
Hey, Ron, I just want to wish you congratulations on your retirement,
and you're a great guy.
I'm glad to work with you,
and I'm going to miss our annual Braves home opening live shots.
Hey! Congratulations on retirement. Have a good time. Enjoy it.
If you ask my husband, you're the coolest part of my job.
He tells everybody I work with you,
so now we're going to have to find something else to tell people
because, you know, I'm just not that cool anymore.
So I wish you all the best.
I hope you come back and see us,
and enjoy your family while you can now.
As much as our viewers are going to miss waking up
with you on Good Day Atlanta every morning,
we're going to miss working with you behind the scenes.
It has been a wonderful 14 years.
Here's to less coffee, more sleep.
Enjoy your retirement, Ron.
Hey, Ron.
So I just wanted to say that I will definitely miss you.
You are one of the nicest people I have ever met in this business.
And I really appreciate it.
And I always look forward to you saying good morning to me.
So I wish you well hope to see you around and good luck. Hey Ron
I know traffic isn't your favorite scripts to read
But I just want to tell you that it was a pleasure working with you
Your fans should take heart that you are exactly who they think you are
you're just a wonderful person and I'm going to miss seeing you
and I just wish you and your family the best and
Hopefully stop by and say hi to us sometime.
Okay, and stay safe on the road. Think of me when you drive
Hi, Ron. Congratulations. I hope you have the best time ever.
I hope you get lots of sleep and you go to the beach a ton.
Hey, Ron, I have some pictures from our time together
on Good Day Atlanta, starting with you sitting on this couch.
Remember when you came to my house for Katie Beasley's baby shower?
And here's you and Max relaxing after the show in the green room.
And then there's this one,
when a viewer had you sign a poster from Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS.
I'm sorry, but Sid was out.
Enjoy sleeping in. I know I do.
It's one thing delivering the news
to all you viewers out there.
You've become a huge part of our lives and part of our family as well.
But it's not the stuff that has anything to do with work.
It's all of our conversations that we have between each other
when I see a lot of these people around all morning.
Everyone in their own right is so special to me,
and they all have a special place in my heart, for sure.
That is so sweet.
Yeah, and I will say, just being the new kid on the block,
you welcomed me with open arms, just very kind and soft in the morning.
Well, you made it easy, that's for sure.
I'm sad I only got to work with you like four weeks.
It's been a great four weeks, though.
It's great having you, for sure.
It's been a journey.
It's been 14 years, and we were talking about it earlier,
and I want to give a shout-out to our 6 a.m. producer, Michael.
We've created a special bond over what
the last 10 years he has been amazing.
He should be out here for this.
Yes, he should.
Well, we are certainly going to miss you, Ron.
We love you to pieces, and we wish you the best in retirement.
The love is mutual, that is for sure.
I'm in denial, but all the new kids on the block,
they're going to hear your stories about you forever.
Oh, yeah.
I'm sure some of them will.
That is so true.
Love you guys.
Love you guys so much.
We'll be back.
