Thank you. Well, the man accused of murdering a 76 gas station employee
is now in police custody after a cross-country manhunt
and an investigation linking him to two other deadly shootings.
Court documents reveal he used to work there.
Fox 13 Taylor Winkle is live this morning,
breaking down the timeline of what we know so far.
Taylor, good morning.
Yeah, Aaron, so that deadly shooting happened at this 76 gas
station last Tuesday, October 13th, and investigators say it
was the first in a multi-day killing spree less than 24 hours ago.
Police and U.S. Marshals took this man, 33-year-old Michael
O'Neill Fleming, into custody in Chicago after he walked
into the Seattle 76 where he was employed as recently as October 3rd.
The morning of the murder, he bought a drink there and
then shot and killed
his former co worker Graham Dobeck before running away.
A customer found Dobeck and
the whole interaction was caught on surveillance video.
It was the way that he walks that helped former co workers identify
O'Neill Fleming to investigators.
And while the investigation was happening here,
authorities say the murders continued in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
That's where he allegedly shot and killed his mother,
Raina O'Neill, and her husband, Rodney Brushwood.
Their bodies weren't discovered until this last Monday, October 19th,
during a welfare check when the husband didn't show up to work.
During that investigation, authorities interviewed Fleming's brother,
who identified him, detailing his recent erratic behavior.
Yesterday morning, King County prosecutors charged Fleming
with first-degree murder.
At the same time, Kenosha police issued
an alert stating Fleming was spotted in their area.
And by yesterday afternoon, Fleming was found and arrested in Chicago.
So what comes next?
He's now facing extradition to Wisconsin for double murder before he
is extradited here to Seattle to face charges here.
For now, reporting live in Seattle, I'm Taylor Winkle, Fox 13 News.
