Space Rock 2026 RC Close Approach In Just A Few Hours September 3rd 2026!

James Kaufman, World News Report today. Ladies and gentlemen, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory has just announced that we have a rock flying between Earth and the Moon in the next three or four hours. And I wanted to get that to you as quick as possible. They just released the information, I guess, late yesterday. It says 2026 RC. And you can see it here. looks like it's just about on top of earth as we speak again the close shave will come in about three or four hours i'll give you all an exact time it would take a few seconds here in just a moment again 2026 rc and there is an inclination it's coming up from below the planet it's going to be over the planet for a while all right the information was released yesterday late september 2nd they've only observed this space rock 10 times only yesterday did they see it first observation used the second last observation the second condition code's pretty high meaning they're not quite sure where it's headed or how big it is they think it's about 20 to 25 feet in diameter but with a condition code of seven they're not very certain zero means that they're certain of the path and the size nine means they have no idea or they're highly uncertain seven is much closer to nine than zero our automatic ai software pick this one up as usual and like i said we have a few hours before it well gives us a close shave all right taking a look at some close approach data and you'll see the September 3rds here uh it's close approach to Earth is going to be just after 6 p.m. Central tonight looks like about five minutes after give or takes nine seconds, so that's its close approach to Earth, and it's going to be fairly close to Earth, but this is not as close as the rock that's coming in on the 30th of October. So, this is going to fly between the Earth and the Moon just after 6 p.m. Central Time tonight or at 2305 UTC time.
