The video explores the capabilities of advanced robotics at Deep Robotics in Hangzhou, China. Through a series of demonstrations featuring the humanoid DR-02 and various quadruped robots, the content examines whether robots can perform human tasks, their practical applications in hazardous environments, and the societal acceptance of AI-driven machinery in daily life.
Three, two, one, go!
You're not even going low!
Fourteen, twenty-one!
Oh my gosh!
Whoa!
Everybody's seeing the robots dancing and fighting,
but can robots actually perform real human tasks?
Today we are at Deep Robotics here in Hangzhou,
and we are chilling with Dr. O2, a.k.a. Dr. O2,
and we are going to see if he can actually get hired for human jobs.
You ready?
Let's check out.
what if the future is happening already
but most of us just don't know where to look welcome to
global next china
edition let's
discover what's next
sejong university
in 2017 to 2026
this robot
has come a long way yeah i mean i um that's
the university i went to i studied computer science
seeing uh the very university honestly i don't
know like i never wanted to be an engineer
and so glad that there's people who are fantastic engineers
who are able to build a robot like that
Let's see if the DR-02 can replace the job of a Kung Fu instructor.
Master, we're getting ready.
Oh, let me get
a white belt.
Thank you.
Look, Doc, in this race for humanity,
humans still up right now.
So you got to show me something.
You know, otherwise, I don't recognize the dominance.
Let's do the push-ups.
Go.
Oh, man, this already hurts for me.
Three.
Hurry up, David.
Eight.
You're not even going low.
Ten.
Fourteen.
keep going keep going keep going it's barely 90 seconds oh
my gosh listen guys i can't do it
the robots might have the edge
when it comes to this one i bet you think you're stronger than me
huh all those muscles you're pretty lean well yeah
i guess technically you're at like zero percent
body fat so hey doc we've been
laying here for a while you want
to get up let's go oh my gosh it's
It's 8 o'clock in the morning and I have an important meeting at 10.
And I would love to have a fresh cup of coffee.
Hey, doctor, can you please make me a cup of coffee?
You know
what?
You went from being one of the engineers
at the Liu Xiaolong Six Dragons to making videos about it.
Well, I think that China has a ton of great engineers
and engineering minds.
But this day and age,
I think that we need more people telling stories, right?
and you know soft skills and some i'm
so glad that i'm actually doing it i think that you know
a creative mind should do creative stuff yeah
that's a good point put everybody in their roles
and you know this one is so crazy you couldn't see it outside
but it's going through the water
it's doing flips this guy's like jumping on top
um can you just think of all like the real world
applications this is so much more exciting
because i'm actually controlling the dog so we'll see
the dog is break dancing right
now break dancing for sure whoa
that's crazy okay watch me play
water with my favorite puppy m20
it feels good i love the water
well i have a real dog at home
but let's see if i will have more fun with my robot pet here
m20 let's go faster faster okay
well you know i think i think it's
a big dog that's why it's not
as fast as me
but i'm pretty sure we can make it much
faster let's go oh my gosh that's a good run
just like many girls i grew up want to have a pony
and this year is a year of horse and i am
a horse myself so i got myself my pet pony bobby
and trust me it's stronger than any man you ever
date because it will hold
your back without any complaint let's go let's go i mean i honestly
don't know why people are scared of robots
because robots are controlled by human being end of day
right like as for now so if you trust people
who are controlling the robot in theory you should
trust robot itself and you know this is where
the engineering minds of chinese come in place where
like chinese people are very logical
and they're not much scared by like um you know mechanic uh object
like robot right especially
if you see them already like everywhere in hong kong they're
they're like robot police everywhere,
controlling the traffic.
I think it's just very, you know,
natural for people to accept them
as part of human daily life.
Right, like people in Hangzhou
are already trusting this robot
to direct them to take a right turn or a left turn.
Yeah, exactly.
So what's the reason of them not trusting the robot
to do all this stuff?
Doc, you're not so bad after all,
even though you kicked my butt in push-up contest.
Listen guys, I was so excited today
to come to Hangzhou to Deep Robotics,
And I feel like they're more animal-like robots.
I see the immediate applicability today,
you know, finding people in the wilderness,
helping people in hazardous situations
in a variety of terrain,
putting out fires, patrolling an area.
But then when I saw DR02,
this is when it was like starting to connect
on a different way, right?
Right, and would you think that you will hire a doctor
for the job that you wanted to do?
I would, honestly.
I mean, what do you think?
Like, how do you compare this to an LLM?
I mean, I think I would trust a robot
much better than a human, especially for anything
that's strenuous or anything that's repetitive,
like just watching you in the end
while you're doing the pushup,
but then obviously doctor could probably outdo by a lot.
I think that it would work on almost anything
that requires a lot of effort
that human perhaps cannot sustainably do after a while.
I think we're just a few years away,
and I'm telling you,
these robots are solving real world problems right now,
and it's further along than you think.
I think some people are scared of robots,
but like I was a little bit scared
when I first approached Daryl too,
because you know, it is a little bit,
you know, it's buff, it's strong and it's taller than me.
So it's a little bit intimidating,
but after spending more time with the robot today,
you know, you can see how helpful it is.
Like you definitely felt a lot more comfortable around it.
Hey man, as part of the family, as far as I'm concerned,
I'm ready to buy one.
Sign me up.
