I've had an idea to embellish some of these balloon dips and wanted to try it out on a smaller scale before doing a large piece. One thing I really enjoy making are bookmarks. They are small but turn out so nicely and are a great gift! I cut watercolor paper and taped it down so it hopefully wouldn't warp while drying. I used some leftover paint; white and the two shades of purple. I poured the paint on my table and dipped the balloon into it and then dipped it on the bookmark.
I wasn't getting the exact shape that I wanted, so I did grab a nitrile glove for the last bookmark, added more white to the paper and created some really nice abstract flowers with the glove dip.
I let them dry for a few days. This is my first time working with alcohol ink, so I feel like I have a lot to learn. I bought some blending solution and some tools to apply the ink. I love how the gold pops against the other colors and I think embellishing some pieces with this will be really fun in the future!
