This video discusses a performance by Dimash of a song originally titled \"Autumn Song,\" exploring its historical origins, various adaptations across Asia, and the emotional impact of Dimash's unique interpretation.
Hi, this is Martha Patty. How are you?
Dimash is singing a beautiful song.
If you translate the, God,
I just had a brain mishap there.
If you change the, or just Google translate it,
it actually means autumn song.
It was composed in 1989,
originally written by Goro Matsui and originally sang by Koji Tamaki,
a Japanese singer, songwriter, and actor. The song is about Yoshiki,
a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II.
Basically, she hid her heritage under a different name.
I think it's Li Zhang Long. Hopefully,
I know I said her last name wrong, so deep apologies about that.
Um, there's also a version of this song, uh, sung by Koji with the,
um, symphonic, um, orchestra. You should check that out. But anyways,
in the same year, there's more, by the way, this song was used in a,
um, in a title song of a Chinese-Japanese TV series called Farewell.
So, same thing, a Japanese woman, born in China,
accused of spying, and then she was put on trial,
she was set free, and then she left
for Japan to have a peaceful life, okay?
Then in 1993, Hong Kong songwriter and actor,
I think Jackie Chang, adopted the song,
you know, changed it to a different name
and a different meaning of the song,
but it was originally from you know uh Koji
so numerous people have performed this song
under uh different um mandarin versions
but Dimash is singing it and um a unique way the way he
composed it is very very interesting uh i haven't heard
the song but actually like i said i've done
research on there and you know um i like to do research
so during the con uh during the singing
contest Dimash had to learn the song within a week
in a week guys come on okay um so it has uh
the way he composed it um it's a different deep meaning
so i'm really excited about that
So
let's
check
out
this
song.
Okay,
here
we
go
guys.
It's
a
very
beautiful
song.
By
the
way,
when
he
was
singing
Ikinaka,
it
means
don't
go,
please
don't
go
away.
Anytime,
please
don't
ever
let
go.
So it is a deep meaning. Um, it is a beautiful song.
It is well written and it is well sung by him. Um, gosh,
I feel like so much emotional is going on right now.
I do, I do want to cry.
I'm going to hold back, but it is, it is sad.
Uh, it is very, very, very, very emotional for me.
um if you want the um if you want the lyrics I can actually
in English I can actually um post
that but Dimash sung it beautiful like I said
if you know the history um of the song it's you know
it's survival but yet it's still part of her who she
is amazing amazing beautifully sung beautiful
written and beautifully done all right guys do me
