Are the Chicago Bears True Super Bowl Contenders in the NFC?

And what are your thoughts, by the way,
on what you saw last night in that game?
Yeah, it's the same reason why I took those guys.
I feel like, I mean, I'm probably getting too caught up in it.
I'm probably not the right guy to ask,
but I'm feeling like the Bears are one of two or three teams,
maybe more, Joe, in the National League,
in the NFC, that could win the Super Bowl.
I think the Bears have a chance to win the Super Bowl.
I do. I don't know.
I think they're really good.
I think offensively, they're one of the best teams in the NFL.
I think their quarterback is probably
a top five quarterback in the NFL.
I think their receiving core is up there.
You know, when they get Moore back,
it's going to give them another added element,
I think, to the running game as well.
And the game obviously was not quite 30 to 24.
It was only 30 to 24, and it only went over.
And you take that over because of that end score there.
But yeah, I do think that if you're asking about teams
in the NFC specifically,
I suppose that if you said that the Bears aren't one
of the top teams to go to the Super Bowl,
I would say, okay, that's fine.
Give me the teams that are.
That would be my retort.
If you don't like the Bears, I understand.
That's fine.
Not you, just anybody.
If you don't like the Bears like I like the Bears, that's cool.
I get it.
We can like different teams.
But if you don't like the Bears, what do you got?
What do you got?
Who is that team in the NFC that you think is so much better?
than the Bears is what I would ask anybody at this point.
And the other thing that really strikes me, Joe,
is that they're 5-2, and they didn't have Caleb Williams.
You know?
Like, I think all signs are pointing towards Chicago being formidable.
Now, a lot has to go right.
They're going to have to, I would guess,
secure a home game or two in the playoffs.
It's going to be very hard if they don't have
the home field advantage going on the road.
But right now, the team that they would have to go play,
And I suppose another question I would ask is,
are you scared if Chicago goes to Minnesota and plays there?
I understand their defense is very good,
but I think anything can happen.
So to answer your question, Joe,
70 points from three guys on Thursday night.
A super rare 70 going into the weekend.
So heavily favored to win thanks to Caleb Williams,
Luther Burden, and Colston Loveland on Thursday night.
I'm missing your audio there, Joe.
little audio glitch
but yes i i'm sorry about that Greg i'm sorry i
was speechless because of how
much you ripped Colsen Loveland uh from uh really we destroyed him
and you were thinking about
dropping him every chance i was i
was the fact i'm just saying i'm a little speechless here i hung in i hung in
i hung in you know last sunday last sunday
that this was my uh my same thing with joe
piece of pizza when we were doing the football show
is i was like you know i like he was big on him
too like i was but i was but you know joe pizza
of pizza is unwilling to change you know like whatever
he says he's got to stay the whole 16 weeks he's
not willing to go the other way me you know me
like i call whatever it is it is i'm i'm out i'm done etc
so with him i'm like i'll give it one
more week that was last week i'll give it one more week
to see how he does if he scored and then this
week i'm like well i'm not gonna obviously i'm
gonna play him again and by the way Colsen Loveland
and dropped two balls in that game too it's
not like he was so good they just get you know Caleb
Williams just found him over and over and over again
so i don't know joe i open up the floor
to you on this one if not the bears then who in the nfc
and and and fair for you to come up with
a team or two because we this is this is what we
do we do shows we have opinions but i gotta tell
you listen i gotta tell you they're there
with the others how about that wow look they jumped
It's all the way ahead of the Rams.
I do not, and you tell me if I'm crazy here,
but I do not trust this Bears defense.
That touchdown to Ramondre Stevenson
with a handful of seconds left
that you let him go that far before the end of the first half,
that game should not have been close, Greg.
I'll give you that.
The Bears should have been there.
I just don't trust this defense,
and I'm back to the same place I was originally with New England.
is it me or watching that game last night
at points they look like oh boy this is a team's
gonna give Buffalo a run for their money
and then at other times it's like drake may what are you doing
they can't run the ball efficiently
the defense goes absolutely blank for long stretches it does
not feel like i'm looking at this same team
that everything they touched turned to gold a year ago
doesn't feel like that's what we're getting from the Patriots.
Patriots feel like fool's gold to me, Craig.
What do you think?
Yeah, no, I think it's fair, but it's really different, I think,
for me this year where Kansas City is now much back,
much more back in the mix, and you have Buffalo too.
So that's easier for me to do is to go to those teams.
My point is that you may be correct
in your analysis with Chicago's defense
just like anybody would have said that about the Lions defense
when Ben Johnson was the offensive coordinator two years ago.
They were favored to go to the Super Bowl.
They ended up losing to Washington, and it was a big upset.
They lost at home.
Washington went on to the NFC Championship game and then lost.
I think the same thing can be said for the Bears this season.
