I have such exciting news!! I am publishing an instructional book on paint pouring!
"The Art of Paint Pouring" by Amanda VanEver will be published on May 21, 2019. It is currently available through pre-order through Amazon and the publishers website:
Thank you to everyone who has subscribed and who watches my videos! I have so much fun making art and am still quite new (only been doing this for a couple of years). I can definitely see how much I have evolved and I hope to still be doing this in a few more years.
This video is the first one with me talking!! If you don't like it let me know and I will go back to music :) I did a clock face a couple of weeks ago and didn't like how the torch broke up the paint so I am repouring on the clock with the same colors.
Alright, hi guys! This is going
to be my first video where I'm actually talking through my process.
It's probably going to be a short video.
All I'm doing today is re-pouring over a clock face
that I didn't like the way it turned out.
After I poured, I torched it
and the torch just really broke up all of the colors.
So what I did was just mix up all of the same colors.
I'm going to use a couple
of small two ounce condiment cups pour the paint in
those and then just do a quick pour so I have
a dark turquoise I have a lighter
minty turquoise white and gold
and I'm just going to pour them in the cups at
different intervals
and then pour from there this is a nine inch clock that I
I got from Target and it comes with
the mechanism it is part of their
handmade modern series I put
that lighter turquoise in first and I'm going
to put some gold in all the cups and these small
cups I actually just got off of Amazon I use them
a lot for the coasters that I make and it works
really well it's a really good size holds just enough paint
that I'm not wasting a lot if I pour
from something like one of these cups, I use way too much paint.
So to make it go just a little bit
further, try not to waste a lot, I use something a little bit smaller.
And I really like this lighter
color that I mixed up.
It was about three different colors of turquoise,
so I'm going to use a little
bit more of that.
I'm going to use a craft stick and just
give a little swirl, mix the color up
just a little
bit. I'll just
pour each one.
Now we're
going to tilt.
Try not to
lose too much
down the middle. It's going to happen
but I didn't want to tape it off and then pull tape off and
also have paint come off with it.
I like that much better than it was before. I'm not going to torch
this because I don't want it to do what it did previously.
I am going to go around the sides
just a little bit.
A lot of that light
turquoise
is showing up.
A little bit of
the dark turquoise
is. I'd like a little bit more of that dark color in there
so I'm going to pour just a tiny bit
the gold and the white.
And the only thing that I'm adding
to my paint is water and Floetrol. I
don't have any silicone.
I don't use it a lot anymore because I don't like the cleanup that
you have to do with the canvas after it dries.
Over here. Oh I like that a lot. Follow those lines
with
that.
Tilt
just a
little
bit
more.
Too
much
paint.
It is
a lot
lighter
than
it was
before
but
like it there are some very small cells popping up
and what I will do now is
take the camera down and get a picture for you
so from this angle you can see
that lighter color really took over
but I do like it there's a little bit of
white showing up a little bit
of the darker turquoise and a lot of that gold
thank you all for watching
