The Bulls have a PERFECT opportunity...
Oct 24, 2026
The Chicago Bulls lost their opening game by 43 points,
and they didn't lead for a single second.
But today, at 4 Eastern,
the team that is waiting for them lost their first game as well.
It is the Bulls versus the Bucks.
It's Milwaukee's home opener.
They have a new coach, no Giannis, and a team
that just completely fell apart in the fourth quarter last game.
And here's the part that tells you something.
The Vegas line has the Bucks as one-and-a-half-point favorites,
a team that just lost by 43, is less than a two-point underdog.
This is the perfect opportunity for the Chicago Bulls to go out
and get their first win of the
season against the Milwaukee Bucks.
And it's not because of how good the Bulls are, it's because
of where the Bucks are right now. Let me show you.
Start with the damage. Toronto beat Chicago 135-92
on October 21st, the opener for both teams.
Toronto won the first quarter 43-23, a 20-point
lead after just 12 minutes.
It was 25 at half and 32 after three quarters. Chicago turned it over
27 times. Toronto scored 35 points off of those turnovers,
and the Bulls made four of 36 threes.
That is a blowout, with every box checked.
But look at where the game was lost. The Bulls lost
the first quarter by 20.
Over the other three quarters combined, they lost by 23. That is a
hole they dug themselves in in just 12 minutes,
and then a normal loss after that. That is a
worst-case scenario kind of game,
and those type of games make you feel worse than what they actually
looked like. Quickly before we move on,
do you guys think that we can win this game and get a
rebound win against the Bucks
or do you think we're not ready yet? Let me know down below in the
comments. Start with the threes because that is the easiest one.
Four of 36, that is 11%. The Bulls
took 36 threes and only made four.
Nobody shoots 11% from the three over a season. I'm not saying
the Bulls turn into great shooters in just one game.
I'm saying a night like that does not repeat
itself every night. Same with the turnovers.
27 is a lot, but nine of them came from one player,
rookie Caleb Wilson, in his first NBA game.
He took 21 shots, made seven, and scored 16. He was
minus 45 in his 32 minutes,
but he also had three steals and three offensive rebounds. That is a
debut, not a trend. Yeah,
the Bulls were bad in their season opener, but these are all things
that can change, and I think now with some more time
and learning from their mistakes, watching
the tape, they'll be a lot better of a team going into the day.
Now let's flip the script. Who are
the Milwaukee Bucks? They just lost their star player
and Giannis Antetokounmpo to a trade to
the Miami Heat this offseason.
Here's what came back in that trade. It was Tyler Herro, Kahlil
Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Ajay Jakuchonis.
Plus three first round picks, Miami's 2026 pick
at number 13, and an unprotected first in 2031 and 2033.
That team finished 32-50 last season
and missed the playoffs. Giannis played 36 games for them.
So in Milwaukee, you have a team that
is now rebuilt with a new coach in Taylor Jenkins
who said after their first loss that they're still
trying to figure out their style of play.
Here's how they looked. Wednesday in Washington, Milwaukee
led 56-51 at half and 93-90 going into the fourth quarter.
Then the Wizards outscored them 38-33
and it ended 128-116.
Tyler Herro scored 24, but on 9 of 21 shooting and 4 of 11 from the 3.
Ryan Rollins started at point guard and went 4 of 14.
Kyle Kuzma took 9 shots, made 2,
and finished with 5 points and 3 turnovers.
And here's the odd part. Milwaukee shot 45%,
made 15 of 41 threes, 37%, and hit 19 of 23 free throws.
The offense was fine for 3 quarters,
then it scored 23 in the fourth.
Jaime Jaquez had two, and Ajay Jakuchonis came off the bench
for 15, going six for six at the free throw line.
Braden Burries, a rookie, had 12 points and five
rebounds in his NBA debut, so Milwaukee has pieces.
On the other side, Anthony Davis had 34 points and
12 rebounds for Washington,
and Trey Young had 21 points and 13 assists. Those two combined for 54.
Miles Turner, Milwaukee center,
had 11 in 32 minutes with five rebounds and three turnovers.
But watch what the coach did.
Kahlil Ware picked up six fouls in 14 minutes,
and four players, including Caris LeVert
and Gary Trent Jr., did not play at all.
This is a team that are still trying things.
A roster with pieces, a team with no identity,
this is exactly where the Bulls fill in that gap.

Here's where I had to be fair. These
two teams already played in the preseason,
and Chicago won by more than 20, but I don't want
to read too much into that.
Yeah, Milwaukee played their B team that night, so I'm not telling you
the Bulls beat the Bucks today,
because the Bucks hasn't really showed anybody who they are yet.
And the line agrees. One and a half points after
the Bulls lost by 43 points, that should show you
where the Bucks are, right alongside the Bulls.
A few Bulls did their jobs in the last game. Jalen
Smith scored 15 points on 5 of 10 in 19 minutes with 8 rebounds,
4 of them offensive. Trey Jones
off the bench scored 13 on 5 of 8 and did not turn it over once,
and the Bulls won the offensive
rebounding battle 21-16.
Toby Iwaka had 6 offensive rebounds in just 14 minutes of play.
Norman Powell scored 15, 7 of 11 at the line,
and Isaac Okoro made all 4 of his free throws
without a turnover in 18 minutes.
Zach Collins was a plus 7 in 9 minutes, and Jones was plus 1,
The only two Bulls on the right side of the plus-minus,
small things, but they were real.
And Vucevic made 13 of 16 free throws.
The Bulls scored 34 points from the line.
That is a way to stay in a game.
Even on a night, the shots didn't go in at all.
That is effort, and that's how we beat the Milwaukee Bucks today.
We got to go out and outwork them, because if we do,
the buckets are going to start falling.
We're going to get the chances at the line,
and we're going to win this game.
It is also worth saying Toronto was good.
Immanuel Quickley, Scottie Barnes, and Kawhi Leonard each scored 23.
and R.J. Barrett had 20.
Toronto shot 44 of 98, but the Raptors did not need a hot night.
They made 10 of 31 threes, 32% and still won by 43.
Kawhi went 5 of 17 from the field and 11 from
11 at the line with 4 steals. Toronto had 15 steals as a team.
That pressure is a big reason
Chicago turned it over 27 times.
Milwaukee only had 5 steals in its opener, so the kind of pressure
that wrecked Chicago last time in Toronto
is not going to happen here in Milwaukee.
Now let's argue against it because it
is Milwaukee's home opener and they're going to be
wanting to put on a show for their fans and go out
and win their first game of the season.
And the Bulls are not healthy.
Nick Claxton is out with a strained left hamstring with a return
projected for early November.
Jordan Hawkins and Daylon Swain missed the opener with an illness
and are questionable going into this one.
Josh Giddey is probable with a left wrist sprain that
has bothered him since the preseason.
He played 24 minutes against Toronto, went one for 10 and
had five turnovers and the Bulls were outscored by 39 points
while he was in the game. And Tiago
Splitter gave the rookie Caleb Wilson a lot of minutes,
more than anyone else in this last game.
And yeah, Caleb Wilson had some great flashes
of brilliance offensively, but yeah, he maybe didn't
have the best game. He looked like a rookie in his NBA debut.
So hopefully tonight we can see him go
out there and show everybody why he's the fourth overall pick.
So here is the recipe for a Bulls
win three ingredients one protect the ball 27 turnovers last time
and the Bucks turned it over
16 times on Wednesday so there are turnovers
to take two make threes four of 36 last time three
start fast 23 first quarter points last time
against 43 we need more than that tonight and
one more number the total is 238
and a half in their openers the bulls scored 92 and the bucks
scored 116 that is 208 combined about 30 points short
of where the market has the game tonight
If the Bulls do these three things tonight,
Milwaukee will give them space to win this
game, but if they don't, it doesn't matter
who's on the other side, we'll still lose.
So is it the perfect opportunity?
I think it is the best kind of opportunity.
A team with problems it can fix against
the team that doesn't know what it is yet.
That is not a guarantee.
It is a window for success.
My call is that the Bulls go out and beat the Bucks on the road.
I really hope we see the Chicago Bulls win
their first game today at 4 Eastern.
