Chicago Weather: Another sunny, warm fall day!

And it is another perfect day with temperatures hitting the 70s. That's a cool shot right there. Kaitlin Cody is here to give us the latest on the forecast. Good morning. It is Saturday, October 24th. Thanks for joining us this morning. I'm Jake Hamilton. I'm Natalie Bobke filling in for Brian on this Saturday. And this is like a trifecta that we've never gotten to do on a Saturday morning before. This is kind of cool. So fun. It's like an old school Good Day Chicago reunion back in the day. We've been here for too long. Yes. Not long enough. I got to say, before we get started on the forecast, Jake Hamilton doesn't know what Roblox is. I've never, genuinely never heard of it. Never in my entire life. Is he lying? I swear to God, I've never heard of this thing you're talking about. Roblox. Roblox. I've never heard of it. People at home are just baffled. It's a game. It's a video game. Yeah. I swear. He said, is it a game or is it a game console? To be fair, I have never seen it. Okay. Nor have I played it. Okay. And so I don't know how it works, but I know Caitlyn's kids are big fans. Yeah, I've never heard of it. And listen, there are a lot of things that, you know, I'm very passionate, but then I also have apparently just giant blind spots. Giant, giant. Apparently Roblox is one of those things. It will be part of your life soon with that little baby. All right, let's talk about this weather. It is going to be a stunning weekend this morning. You saw that live shot with the pink sky. Temperatures are going to be comfortable today. Looking behind me, you can see the clouds are starting to stream in. We are going to have a slight uptick in cloud cover today, but still 70 degrees with sunshine. There's no rain in the forecast today. It is going to be pleasant. So let's take you outdoors. Take a deep breath. Hopefully you're all cozied up in bed still at 702. It's 51 degrees outside. We have a breeze coming in at seven miles per hour and you can see the clouds that have been moving in. Checking in on our visibility over the past couple of mornings, we've had dense fog. Well, so far this morning we're doing okay. I see 5.7 miles of visibility there in Merrillville and northwest Indiana, 7.2 at Woodstock, 7.7 at the lakefront, and you can see that there is dense fog for our neighbors in Michigan, but for Chicagoland, so far, so good. It's a quiet start. We have that breeze coming in at 5 to 10 miles per hour, as mentioned, temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s. It's 46 in Schaumburg. Aurora, it's 47 right now, 51 in Waukegan, O'Hare, midway 52, so a sweater would be perfect if you're going outside to maybe water your mums this morning. Temperatures are going to be a little on the crisp side. Around the area, we are seeing that good mix of 40s and 50s. 50s as we get closer to the city. You can see it's 50 in Gary and 52 from Midway to 51 at O'Hare and Waukegan. Our day planner has temperatures right around 66 by noon. A few clouds, as mentioned, hanging around today, calling it partly sunny. And then by this evening, temperatures are going to be hovering around 70 degrees by 2 and then drop it into the 60s for your evening plans. Here's your seven-day forecast tomorrow. Much of the same. Again, a few clouds around. A high of about 72 degrees. Then we're back down to the 60s to start off next week. Monday, 65. Tuesday, 67. And then bumping it back to the 70s for a few days. So next week, we do have a long stretch of mild weather. Notice it's 70 by Thursday, Friday, 66. But we are going to be slightly cooler, especially to start the week after a cold front moves through on Sunday. Back to you.
