Here is going to be our staff predictions right here.
So some of the games we have on our radar, of course, Cowboys,
Texans, Niners, Falcons, Raiders, Rams, Packers, Lions,
which is the end of Fox game of the week.
And then that Sunday night showdown between Kenneth Walker
and his former team, the Seattle Seahawks.
Some of the big ones that stand out.
You're the only one going with the Eagles against the Cowboys.
We'll definitely have to talk about that one.
And then I think for a lot of people
that know I'm a Niners fan, they'll say,
You're going to the Falcons against your undefeated Niners,
so that's definitely worth the conversation.
Let's start off, though, with that Eagles-Cowboys discussion.
Why do you believe in the Philadelphia Eagles,
as battered as they are, the Philadelphia Eagles,
against the Cowboys on Monday night?
I don't so much believe in the Phillies.
I just don't believe in Dallas right now.
We can talk about, well, Philly doesn't have this.
They don't have that.
Well, it was just a couple of weeks ago.
Dallas loses a home game against Tampa Bay,
who wasn't doing that great to begin with,
and they didn't have Baker Mayfield.
There's just a lot that I'm not buying,
and it starts on the defensive end, as we talked about yesterday.
It's one thing to struggle on defense,
but now the offense is kind of getting into a funk.
I like the Eagles at home just
because I'm not a believer in the Cowboys right now.
Sorry, but I'm just not.
It's just hard for me to believe that the Cowboys offense
will struggle three games in a row.
I think that that team is just too talented to have
that offense just let them down three games in a row.
Now, when we talk about the defense, can the defense hold up?
Well, they should because, again,
Philly has Tanner McKee at quarterback.
And I know they get Saquon back,
and that will be a huge boost to their team.
But Tanner McKee looked awful in this last game.
If the Cowboys allow him to tear them apart, then honestly,
Christian Parker, their entire defensive staff needs
to be gone by Tuesday morning if that's the case.
Yeah, I'm with you, just like I got through saying.
I mean, I can't – to me, the whole backup quarterback argument
is out of the window from what I saw a couple of weeks ago.
Okay.
And I didn't see much better last week against the Packers
when they played them.
Okay, well, you had to explain your Cowboys.
I feel like I have to explain why I'm going against my Niners here.
And it's just like –
I'm going to see if you go the same –
Yeah, there's multiple points I want to hit on.
So the injury point.
I mean, first off, when you're down
six wide receivers, that's an issue.
Second of all, every team loses.
I mean, let's face it.
What's the last undefeated team?
Oh, yeah, the 72 Dolphins.
And unfortunately, there's a lot more games in the NFL season.
And frankly, every team loses
by week next week for the San Francisco 49ers.
Team looking ahead.
And then there's even like little factors like Ricky Morris.
So he's going against his old team, defensive coordinator.
So they know his defensive scheme.
Right. Meanwhile, Kevin Stefanski,
new offensive talent for the Atlanta Falcons.
Can Raheem Morris and the Niners say
the same about knowing this Atlanta offense?
Also, early start time, short week,
a number of other factors rolling in there.
I got to say, on everything that you hit on there and plus,
which you were about to hit on too,
I'm not a big gambler, but I do listen.
I do listen to what the casinos say.
and I do know that one of the rules of thumb is never,
ever, ever be a fan
of a West Coast team going east, especially with a noon start
because that is a – what is that for San Francisco?
That's according to their clocks and what they're in,
that's a 9 a.m. kickoff for them.
So that's what I'm banking on.
And plus, just as far as the on-the-field stuff,
I think the Falcons are a pretty talented team.
They've shown themselves to be that this year.
uh so far uh yes and and the Niners
as you said injuries beat up it's just and and they're due
they're due for a loss
and uh I think this is a perfect setup for it yeah there's just so many
different factors going against them in this one
and as much as again like I'm a fan but like I'm
a pundit first when it comes to like this stuff I want
to make sure that I'm like putting all the
analysis into this that this respects oh you
are oh hey on Monday I'm wrong I'll be it'll be a
happy wrong don't get sure don't get me wrong
but I would say that it just again it's just like
who's Brock Purdy throwing to at this point if Mike Evans is out
which if the Niners are smart
Mike Evans will not play in this game you don't mess
with Achilles tendonitis or the guy who's
already north of 30 right when your wide receiving room
is already as thin as it is just wait till
after the bye week and get everyone healthy
and plus the start that they've gotten them off to
affords them affords them the luxury of being able
to make decisions like that you know just
Just the fact that they've gotten out
the way they have, you know, it is,
especially with the bye week next week,
it is, I'm not going to say it's easy,
it's easier to let some of those guys who might be questionable,
might be certainly doubtful, you know, to at least, you know,
give them that extra week to rest up
and get ready for the rest of the year.
Guys, do me a favor, pull that graphic up one more time.
I just want to take another look at it.
So just another couple key points.
So we're all going with the Texans.
Texans going against this Giants team,
new quarterback with J.J. McCarthy in town.
We are split on the Packers versus Lions game,
which I find fascinating
because you do have the Lions coming off bye week.
This Packers team has been red hot.
Alec, the only one going with the Raiders.
This Rams team might be down
their top two wide receivers in Devontae and Puka Nacua.
And then as far as the Chiefs game goes,
so no one banking on the Seahawks to rebound off
of a bit of a lengthier rest, too.
They played Thursday night, too, so I think it's important to point out
that they had 10 days to prepare for this game.
So, no love for them, especially they're also at home, too.
Seattle used to be a no-fly zone for a lot of teams.
Well, I think a lot of us are potentially
falling into the trap with the Rams
that I might be falling in with Texas.
Talented team, desperate team, but they're also beat up.
So, you know, that might be – that can be a potential trap.
Now, I like the Rams, and obviously I like the Texans,
and I like the Chiefs and their pedigree in their game
and the Lions, you know,
So coming off the bye week, being at home, terrific offense.
I like them there.
Yeah, with the Rams, like you said,
the desperation factor kind of comes into play.
But I was tempted to go with the Raiders.
I really was.
Just the injuries piling up.
The Raiders, I think, are a better team than
was given credit for at the start of the season.
We've seen a lot of fight.
I'm thinking about this Rams team.
How are they going to stop Brock Bowers,
for example, from getting loose?
Now, I haven't really seen Ashton Janty break out.
But when you look at the Rams' battered defensive line, too,
Maybe this is an opportunity as any
for him to put up some rushing yards,
really put up some counting stats.
That Packers-Lions game, again, an interesting matchup
because you've got, again, the well-rested Lions,
but the last time we saw their defense on the field,
no one on that defense was stopping anybody.
So, you know, the Packers definitely have a lot of questions
as far as, like, can they keep up in that matchup.
Kenneth Walker, do you think he puts up that revenge game
that everyone's picturing?
Yeah, probably so.
I mean, like I say, I trust the Chiefs.
I trust the Chiefs whenever they're healthy.
Yes, I know Kelsey's aging a bit,
but I trust the Chiefs whenever they're healthy,
and I trust them in a matchup like this between Andy Reid
and Patrick Mahomes.
There's not a lot that they haven't seen,
not a lot that they haven't had success against.
I trust them.
And honestly, I don't trust Andy Reid.
