How to make Pork Meatballs at home. This is a traditional Russian dish for meat lovers. This recipe serves 4 people and makes about 12 Kotlets. Have you ever tried Russian Cutlets? It could be your next quick delicious dinner. Russian cutlets are very easy to make and are absolutely delicious! You can make as many as you like and just keep the rest in your fridge for tomorrow. The leftovers are as yummy as fresh ones.
Russian cutlets or kotleti might remind you of burger patties or meatballs, they are, after all, are made out of ground pork. However, their shape is different than meatballs or patties, and because Russians love the rich flavour in their food, kotleti might contain more than just ground meat and spices. This is my childhood grandmas recipes but there are so many different variations of Russian kotleti nowadays.

Hi! Welcome to my channel
and Welcome! and Labdian.
Today I'm going to show you one of my favorite recipes of all time.
It's pork meatballs.
They are so, so good, so yummy, so juicy and super easy to make.
It is something that was a staple in my house, kotlety.
So in Russian it's called svininy kotlety.
And kotlety is something that you have in a Russian house all the time
or Latvian house um and I remember my mom used
to make a pot of it like I'm not talking like a
giant giant pot of katlety
and I absolutely love them you can eat them hot you can eat them cold
you can eat them with different sort of sides like potatoes,
buckwheat, rice, noodles, all sorts of
things, salad and yeah I really think you're gonna enjoy
this recipe guys so let's get started but
before we do make sure you subscribe to my channel
and I want to reach 100,000
subscribers so click the little bell
it will notify you every single time I
upload a new video which is every week
so far by the way yeah let's get started
in a food processor add onions together with garlic
and then add egg and we're
gonna blitz everything together
if you don't have a food processor you can chop
onions and garlic by hand but make sure it's nice
and finely grated. I'm also
adding some garlic powder,
ground pepper and salt and I'm gonna blitz this until
it's nice and smooth on a fast speed.
As some of you know I have launched my
online cooking school where you can learn how
to make the most amazing cakes

Once it's all blitzed I'm gonna
add my minced pork meat inside
and I really like using a food processor as it
gives it a really sort of whipped cutlets
and they become super tender but
again you don't have to use this you can use
your hand and just whip this with
your hand incorporating as much air as you can.
Once it's all been mixed together we're going to
take this out and place it into a large bowl.
For now I'm also going to soak my white bread so I've
just taken the white bits the middle bit from the bread
and I've added some milk and I'm going to
soak this for five minutes
and this is really important to give your cutlets really sort of
tasty and juicy and tender bite
and you don't have to do this step but I really prefer it and
it's quite an old-fashioned way how my granny used to make.
So you want to just use your hands and
kind of touch the bread
and make sure it comes nice and soggy and soft.
Then take your minced
pork together with all the spices and egg
and onions and then add together with your soaked
milk bread and this is really important
to make sure you get all the bits there
and we're going to mix everything together you can use
your spoon or you
can use your hands it's completely up
to you I'm gonna sort of do both and at
this stage I'm adding a bit more milk just
to make the mixture very very
smooth and nice make sure you add
a little bit of milk at a time because you
don't want the mixture to be too wet meat takes up a lot of moisture
and water or milk or any sort
of liquid so it's really important to add a little bit at a time
so you want to mix it all through
and once it's mixed we're going to start shaping our meatballs
or cutlet you want to take a large
spoon like a tablespoon probably even two depending
on what size you're going to make them
and before you do that you want
to make sure everything is prepped you have your plate
i'm gonna use breadcrumbs to coat them and you
also have a board where you're gonna place your
cutlets so take a large spoon make sure your hands are nice
and wet it will make it easier to shape
the meatballs and then once you've created
your shape you want to dip them right into your bread
crumbs from around the sides edges and on top at the bottom
and then just lightly press on top of
it and it's done and you want to place this onto
your board i like to get them all done before i
fry them because your hands get dirty
so if you're gonna roll some out and then fry and then you have
to wash your hands several times so it just makes it a tad easier
when you have got it all on your
board lined up just like that the next step
is to add some oil into your pan you can use sunflower
oil or vegetable oil i also like to add a little bit
of butter about a tablespoon just to give it
super golden brown color
and then I'm gonna add all my cutlets don't try and
overfill them but just enough you can move them
with your hand if you want to
you know create more space for them
and I'm cooking on quite low heat at the
beginning because we really want that crunchy side
and after about five to
eight minutes you want to turn them around
and you can see how golden and
beautiful they've become the meatballs will shrink
a little bit but not too
much which i really like
and your house is going to smell amazing i can't even describe how good
they are and once they're done you can just serve them straight away
on a plate you can keep them in
a fridge or even freeze these they freeze really well after
a few months and they're so juicy guys
so delicious you can have them
with anything you want salad potatoes rice buckwheat i'm just going
show you how juicy
and soft they are inside look at that oh my gosh i'm so hungry now
yeah guys i hope you tried
this recipe i can't wait to see your meatballs
