You decide, Arizona. We are now in the final stretch with Election Day,
just eight days away.
Everyone's going to be working really hard.
Candidates across the state making their final
push for every last vote. Fox 10's Irene Snyder joining us live
with details. Good morning, Irene.
Good morning, guys. Well, it's hard to believe,
but one week from tomorrow is Election Day here
in Arizona for the midterm election.
And so far, the Maricopa County Recorder's Office says
they've received back more than 3,000 ballots.
And our Arizona candidates are, of course, going out around the valley
trying to convince those who might still remain undecided.
In Arizona's governor race, we have Governor Katie Hobbs
hitting the campaign trail in Mesa yesterday
with her running mate, former Mesa Mayor John Giles.
They were joined by New Jersey Governor Mike Sherrill.
Here's Governor Hobbs.
When I talk about making life more affordable for Arizonans,
it is not just talk for me.
I understand that struggle because I've lived a lot of it myself.
I'm also the first social worker ever elected
governor anywhere in the United States.
My opponent, Andy Biggs, has spent his career fighting
for the powerful, the well-connected,
and the special interests who leave everyday Arizonans behind.
A Republican candidate for governor, Andy Biggs,
and his running mate, Sena Kerr, stopped by Fox 10 on Friday.
They talked about Social Security and corruption on Fox 10 Talks.
The problem with Social Security is nobody will touch it,
and I don't believe we ever touched it while I was there.
Nobody will touch it because it is a political hot potato.
I am concerned about its longevity and its viability.
But I've got to say,
this has nothing to do with state governance at all.
The governor doesn't come in and say we're going
to raise the age or taxes on it.
Neither does the legislature.
and quite frankly, I don't believe we did anything like
that while I was in Congress.
A reminder for all voters with mail-in ballots,
tomorrow is the recommended day to return your
ballot by mail so that it's received
by 7 p.m. on election day in order to be counted. You can
also place your ballot in ballot drop boxes
or at an in-person early voting center. And more of
those centers are opening up across the state in the next week,
of course, so make sure to take a
look online to see where the different spots
are going to be where you can vote or to drop off
your early ballot election day again, slated for Tuesday, November 3rd.
