New Jersey students explore future of journalism at Rutgers

The future of journalism is right here at Rutgers University. Hundreds of high school students gathering at Rutgers University today for the Garden State Scholastic Press Association's Fall Press Day, the conference bringing together aspiring journalists for workshops and discussions on the future of the industry, like how to navigate the growing role of AI and social media in reporting, students learning new skills, exploring the challenges, and discover what it takes to tell stories in a rapidly changing digital world. It's important for us to tell stories to other people who may not be informed about a certain topic. I think it's very interesting to just be involved in the community as a high school student. And I think being in the newspaper and being in journalism is a very great way to do that. Because it brings all the different schools together in one arena where kids can have sessions that we hold here. They can talk to each other. They can look at other newspapers that they do. And we bring in some good people that talk to them about different things. These days, the news is right at your fingertips. We're at Rutgers University's Busch Campus Center.
