Well, the main attraction of fall is slowly coming to an end
as many areas are now at peak fall color or moving past it.
22 News Storm Team Meteorologist Alexa Bianco has
a look at the changing foliage
as we head towards November.
Yes, Ciara and Claire, some trees are still showing off vibrant colors.
However, with October ending,
the window to enjoy those fall colors are getting smaller.
The fall foliage season is winding down.
With many areas at or past peak color,
you can still find pockets of bright leaves,
but more are falling as the season progresses.
The timing can vary by location and the type of tree,
so even in areas past peak, there may be still some color to enjoy.
Our area, the Berkshires are past peak.
In many spots, if you head out in that direction,
you'll start to see a lot more trees that are just bare at this point.
But for us here in the valley, we are around our peak.
You're starting to notice a lot of the trees
are just completely full in color,
if not slightly past peak.
While fall colors are fading farther inland,
and areas like the Cape and along the eastern seaboard are catching up.
Coastal areas, they've still got another week or so of some good color,
but I'd say by at least the first week or second week of November,
they're pretty much done as well.
If you want to continue to see color, you have to travel farther south.
From the mid-Atlantic into the southeast,
the foliage season typically peaks later.
And in some areas, there's still time
to enjoy the trees before November arrives.
