From Fox 35 Mission Control, it's been five months since
Blue Origin's rocket exploded right here on the launch pad.
And now the launch tower is standing once again.
But the company isn't quite ready
to send rockets into space from that spot yet.
Fox 35's Esther Bauer explains.
Blue Origin is making incredible progress rebuilding its pad
and also expanding operations on the Cape.
NASA is also impressed with the speed, but there
are still questions about what caused the explosion of the rocket.
will be ready. From fully engulfed in flames
to fully stacked in a matter of months, Blue Origin
CEO sharing this time lapse over the weekend,
showing every module stacked and standing at
Launch Complex 36. The progress on the pad is excellent.
Yeah, it's excellent. No doubt about
it. That progress at the pad also praised by NASA leadership.
I see that team fighting for every
single day, figuring out how to shave hours off.
Blue Origin is fighting to fly again because NASA
is betting on the company to get the United States back
to the moon we have over 100 NASA team
engaged throughout return to flight NASA says they
are working closely with Blue Origin to see them
launch again before the year is over
but while the pad is progressing some are still worried
about the rocket itself we have heard basically nothing
from Blue Origin about the status of the
rocket Ken Kramer says the rocket is to blame
for the explosion the company hasn't shared very much
information about the issue and solutions
but we don't know the status of any fixes they've made
either on the first or the second stage
but we do know the status of LC-36B Blue Origin used the
explosion as a launching pad to start work
on a second launch complex at the Cape the company is
also laying concrete and setting the foundation
for a second pad to support its new Glenn rocket
That's where the major construction is going on of the new pad.
And NASA says Blue Origin could start working back out at the pad,
getting ready for a launch as soon as November,
but still no official word when we will see another test flight.
Reporting in Brevard County, Esther Bauer, Fox 35 News.
