The TRUTH About the Mets Was Just LEAKED...
Oct 27, 2026
The truth about the New York Mets was just leaked.
Juan Soto, the biggest part of our offense, at least contract-wise,
and what should be statistically,
spoke to the team's offensive struggles yesterday
after they lost to the Cleveland Guardians,
and of course got swept at home,
and much worse, which is exactly what we're going
to dive into, only here on Mets Digest.
I'm your host today, Mike Duda.
We're going to talk about Juan Soto,
these comments, the implications of them,
and of course yesterday's game,
but first we've got to talk about some subscribers,
and that being the fact that 69.4% of you
that watch these videos aren't one.
So please, do me a favor, do us a favor here on Mets Digest,
and hit that free subscribe button.
That way, we can bring content to you about the amazing.
So, without further ado, let's go ahead and dive right into this game.
Starting it off with what we saw yesterday,
if you watched my video yesterday.
The fact that the New York Mets had one hit yesterday against
a guy named Gavin Williams,
who I personally had no idea was even
in Major League Baseball before yesterday.
I have never heard of that guy,
and the Mets were no hit by him for eight and a third innings.
43 consecutive outs without recording a base hit for the New York Mets.
That is over 12 innings worth without a hit consecutively,
dating back to the night prior.
And Gavin Williams threw eight and a third no-hit innings.
He ended up giving up one hit, and it was to Juan Soto,
who is the focus of today's video.
He hit a solo home run to break up the no-hitter,
break up the shutout, and avoid pure embarrassment
for the Mets, but they still got swept,
and with that, the offense continues to struggle,
so let's hear from the experts.
Why are the Mets struggling offensively?
Well, we're going to turn it to Alian Mohamed of Newsweek,
who says the New York Mets offense
has struggled of late,
and Juan Soto seemingly has no answers as to what is going wrong.
The Mets ranked 19th in runs scored in July.
Now, normally you look at that and say, eh, it's not terrible.
The Mets aren't an offensive team.
But this team was built a lot differently than
the New York Mets usually are.
You look at the Mets overall as a franchise,
and you think Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman, Doc Gooden,
Jacob DeGrom, Matt Harvey for a couple years in his prime.
All these big pitchers.
We even had Tom Glavine.
You think all of these pitchers.
You think about the Mets as a pitching team.
Well, in 2025, it was a little bit differently.
You knew you had an ace in Kodai Senga.
David Peterson has looked really, really solid.
And you had a good piece in Sean Manaea,
who you hoped would be like last year.
And so far, he's been pretty solid.
But overall, this is an offensive team.
This is a team with Juan Soto, one of,
if not the best players in all of Major League
Baseball, let alone hitters.
Pete Alonso, a sheer power tank
who is hitting for a solid average this year.
Francisco Lindor, who is arguably one
of the best shortstops in Major League Baseball.
Brandon Nimmo, Jeff McNeil, who won a batting title.
You go up and down this lineup, and it is full of talent.
So the fact that they ranked 19th in a month in batting is not good.
In runs scored, that is not good for this New York Met team.
And Juan Soto, he slashed a .222, .344, .380 in his last 30 games.
That's really, really bad.
Juan Soto is a guy you can almost guarantee a .270 average plus,
a .750 bare minimum, really 800 OPS plus,
and he wasn't anywhere near it.
in his last 30 games. The Cleveland Guardians' Gavin Williams nearly
no-hit the Mets until Soto's
ninth-inning home run on Wednesday. That was yesterday.
The Mets still lost, but Soto admitted
his confusion while the team's woes after the game.
And let's do a quick dive on Soto before
we hear these comments. Now, as you can see,
the last 30 days have been really, really rough for
a .193 batting average but it's really been since
the all-star break for Juan Soto a .172 batting
average since the break .294 OBP this is a guy
that walks all the time he doesn't even have a .300 on
base percentage since
the break .345 slugging you're talking about a guy that hits 40 plus
home runs a year 35 plus homers
and a ton of doubles not even slugging to a .350 for a .639 OPS
And this guy has the largest contract in all of sports,
and his OPS is sub-650.
Eight runs, seven RBIs, 10 walks, 16 Ks.
That means this is a guy, one of just two active Major League
Baseball players that has more career walks than strikeouts.
He is striking out more than he is walking since the All-Star break,
and he's striking out at a 27.6% clip with five stolen bases.
His average dropped from .262 to .249.
It was .262 heading into the break, .249 after yesterday.
909 OPS dropped to 864, and their OPS is a little bit inflated
because Soto hit a home run yesterday.
If he didn't hit that home run yesterday,
these numbers would be even worse.
Now, here's the problem.
This Met team, like I was saying,
they have so many really, really good players
on the offensive side.
You can have Juan Soto struggling for a bit of time, right?
Yeah, but you can't have everyone struggling.
You can't have the Fab Four struggling,
and that is exactly what is happening.
Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, Pete Alonso,
Brandon Nimmo are all in big slumps.
Lindor, since the break, .195 average, .244 OBP,
325 slugging, just a .569 OPS since the break.
11 runs scored, 10 RBIs, 4 walks, 22 strikeouts.
Lindor's strikeout-to-walk rate is 5.5.
That's terrible.
Just two stolen bases.
His average before the All-Star break was a .256, down to .249.
OPS dropped from .777 to .751.
Pete Alonso, arguably the worst out
of the Fab Four since the All-Star break,
despite being relatively hot of late.
A .179 average since the break.
This was a guy that had the highest average on the team by far.
he still has the highest average amongst qualified hitters
this was a guy at a time that was hitting
near .300 this year, .225 OBP since
the break, .373 slugging, .598 OPS, a below .600 OPS since the break
five runs, 14 RBIs, four walks, 18 K's, that's 4.5 K's per walk
and a 26.9 percent strikeout clip
which is the best out of the Fab Four
and this is a guy that's a power hitter that should be
striking out the most given
who he is as a player, his average dropped from .277 before the break to .264
OPS from .898, basically .900, to .859, you got Brandon Nimmo in there
who's the best out of the Fab Four
of late, a .232 average since the break, .338 OBP, .333 slugging, he's
not slugging whatsoever and this was
a guy originally when he came up that was an on-base machine
but has really changed his game
into a slugging guy and he is not slugging, he's
not hitting for extra base hits of late, .671 OPS
10 runs scored, 10 RBIs, 8 walks, 3 hit by pitches, 27 Ks
that's a 3.375 strikeout to walk rate
and a 39.1% strikeout clip since the All-Star break
that is pathetic, he is striking out nearly
four out of every 10 at-bats, two out of every five ABs,
two stolen bases as well. Average was
a .262 with a .793 OPS entering the break, down to a .254 and .765.
Overall, the Fab Four has 53 hits
since the All-Star break in 271 at-bats.
That is a .196 batting average from the Fab Four that is
supposed to be the meat of this order of a team
that is supposed to have a top three offense in
all of major league baseball terrible terrible
terrible .276 OBP, .343 slugging, a .619 OPS, 41
ribbies, 26 walks, four hit by pitches, nine stolen bases, 83 K's
which is not only a 3.19 strikeout
to walk rate, helped a lot by Juan Soto drawing a lot of walks,
but a 30.6% strikeout rate. Four
of the best hitters for the New York Mets,
the four best hitters for the Mets, and four top
hitters in the sport are striking out over 30%
of the time since the All-Star break. You're
obviously not going to win with those numbers.
So let's turn it over to Juan Soto. What did he say?
He said, I really don't know what's going on.
We have the talent. The guys are capable of doing
damage here one day it's going
to turn around now let's go back to Muhammad because he said
one day may have to come sooner rather than later
the Mets are about to take on the
Milwaukee Brewers who have the best record
in baseball they were the first team to reach 70
wins and have been dominating nearly every opponent especially
of late a series win in
Milwaukee would go a long way
for the Mets confidence it would go forever I mean that
would turn around the season I just made
a video yesterday about how the Mets have hit rock bottom
If they go ahead and beat the best team in baseball in a series,
yes, their confidence is going to skyrocket
and the season is definitely back on track.
Perhaps Soto's ninth inning home run will be a spark for the team.
However, Soto knows it will not be easy
as just waiting for things to click.
Yes, he said it himself, it won't be easy.
He said, nobody said it's going to be easy for us.
It's a challenge.
We've got to go out there and take it from them.
Nobody is going to bring the trophy over here and give it to us.
We've got to go out there and take it.
Now, great words.
I love that from Soto.
But, yes, you guys definitely need to wake up.
Look at who you're facing in the first game.
Brandon Woodruff, 3-0, a 2.22 ERA since coming out of the break.
37 K's, it says there on the pitching matchup.
Four walks.
He's only walked four guys since he's come back from injury.
That is incredible.
Logan Henderson, a sub-2 ERA.
You've got to face him on Saturday.
And that TBD is going to be Frankie Montas at some point.
It's just the Mets are debating right now
if they're going to have him start
or if they're going to throw an opener in front of Montas.
So you're going to have Frankie Montas pitch that game.
So you really got to step up offensively.
And then Minaya goes up against Quinn Presler,
who has a 3 ERA, a little over a 3.
All of these Brewers pitchers are great.
It's going to be really hard to produce offense.
But if the Mets can score a couple of runs and take a series win,
every single thing,
the entire narrative about the New York Mets completely flips around.
And it's also vital for the playoffs.
If the Mets go ahead and get swept
this weekend by Milwaukee in a three-game set
and Cincinnati wins their next three games,
the Mets are tied for being out of the playoffs.
They need to win games, and honestly, they need some help around them.
Right now, they're in a good spot in terms of the playoffs
because they had such a hot start
and were 21 games above .500 at one point.
But they need to win baseball games.
They control their own fate right now.
So, I know it's early.
I know it's August, and saying control
your own fate is kind of ridiculous.
I get that, but they do.
If the Mets keep winning baseball games,
they will not have to worry about the playoffs
because they don't have to worry about other teams.
All they have to do is win games.
They can't continue this losing streak.
It needs to stop.
And a guy that needs to step up is Kodai Senga.
As you saw in the pitching matchups, he is facing Brandon Woodruff.
He needs to, and I mean needs to, start doing better.
You saw that there with the Kansas City game.
A 13.9 ERA after his last start coming back from the IL.
Then he's been obliterated of late,
11 earned runs over his past 12 innings pitched and
three starts.
ERA has inflated to a 231.
That's basically a one full ERA point increase.
Senga needs to step up and the Mets need
to step up against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Hopefully Soto's home run can turn him back
to that Juan Soto that we all know and love.
He can hopefully mash against Milwaukee and the Mets can go places.
So go down there in the comment section.
Let me know if you agree.
Do you think Juan Soto is going to turn it around?
What do you think of Soto's comments?
Give me all your thoughts down below.
Unfortunately, that's all the time I have for you in this video.
Thank you so much, guys, for watching.
And let's go.
