Columbus High upsets top seed to reach volleyball state championship match

I feel like we've had a few chances in the years past, and I'm just really proud of the girls. They've really locked in once we've hit playoffs with the single goal in mind, and we're almost there. We've made it to the championship, but we want to finish with that win. We were talking the day before about how we're battle-tested. That game against Woodland where we had to go to them, they were the higher seed. They had only lost five matches all year, and we had to battle for it. we were in a fifth set it was 14 14 our season was on the line and we were able to close out and I think that gave the girls a lot of confidence that no matter what like they could still push through and then we had a really big mental reset after that third set that was obviously not our best set and we just talked about you know breathing in positivity and belief and like expelling all of the negative energy and resetting and the girls really embraced that and they embraced playing for each other. And so we were able to really turn it around in that fourth set and then carry that momentum into the fifth set. Donna set up an incredible program here. She not only won three state championships, but she went to so many final fours and state finals. And so if we were able to kind of continue that legacy and show people that Columbus Volleyball is back and we're ready to compete at the highest level.
