I think from as a Red Sox fan watching you guys,
I am envious because I remember 2004
and I remember game four going, this is over.
Like they're going to win tonight.
And then how am I going to feel when that last out is recorded?
Have you daydreamed at all about what
tonight might feel like after the last out?
I have.
And, you know, I briefly considered
the possibility of driving up to Milwaukee.
I don't think that's going to happen.
okay so maybe if they maybe if it goes
to game five i might do that but okay yeah i i'm sure
i'm gonna be texting and phoning with a lot of uh a lot of good friends
and a lot of people i've
gone to brewers games with over the years people
who i used to ride the bus to games with when i
was a kid with 10 bucks in our pockets to get
a bleacher tickets you know bus fare and a bleacher
ticket so um it's it would feel pretty wild
and i don't want to count those chickens matt because
you know you don't want to be the team that uh
is let me do that guilty of the worst and i i saw
those numbers it's like reassuring
that this series has never even made it back to the home
team's park but you don't want to be the team
that that is responsible for like the biggest
choke in world series history will
that happen tonight unlikely i mean it seems like the brewers
are pretty equipped to win a bullpen game with everyone rested
so nice for them that Gosser um
pitched such a clean game last night
and basically they didn't have to go to any of their high
leverage arms so all those guys are ready i mean between ashby uribe
and mcgill those guys can give
four plus innings tonight if guys like dustin may
and Romero can take care of the early innings
And then we're going up against a converted setup man, Griffin Jax,
who I think has only gone beyond five innings like twice this year.
So, and I'll take our bullpen over theirs
if it turns into a bullpen game.
And you have to figure that the Rays
are pretty demoralized at this point.
What does it say that Brewer fans are selling out American Family Field
to watch a game on a screen that they're paying money
to go hang out with their fellow Brewer
fan and they sold it out like in five minutes
when they put the tickets up for the for the
watch party what does it say about Brewers fans
and just the overall city of Milwaukee that you
guys are going to an empty a ballpark that's not empty it's full
but there's no baseball being
played on the diamond it's all watching it up
on the big screen yeah Wisconsin's got a pretty good
fan culture that and uh the the Wisconsin Badgers have
been pretty famous over the years for
traveling well um they go to bowl games even
if they're second rate bowls the Alamo Bowl they'll
they'll get 40,000 people in San Antonio
for that um yeah it's just kind of the way that franchise
is like for years seeing the at Packer games road games seeing
the people with the cheese heads
in the stands it's just people in Wisconsin like to drink
and they like to root for their teams Matt
does it matter that this might be the last baseball game for a while?
Like do Brewers fans even care about that is just give me a ring,
give me a parade.
I'll worry about 27 and 27.
Yep.
Totally fine with that.
I mean,
that's it.
If we had gotten close and fell short,
everyone would be nervous about the work stoppage and ready to go.
But if we're,
if we're wearing the crown sort it all out,
take as much time as you need.
We'll just,
we'll just sit here happy until there's baseball again.
