Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc led with 54 seats, ahead of Gadi Eisenkot's alliance on 49, but neither had secured the 61 needed for a majority in the 120-member Knesset, according to partial results on Wednesday.
"I would like to see Netanyahu out of office. I think he bears some responsibility for what happened on October 7, and unfortunately, there has been no state commission or inquiry," said Jerusalem resident Roland Metzger.
"We need to change the leadership. We've had the same people in power for many years, with the same hostility and the same atmosphere. I think the State of Israel needs a change," he continued.
