2025 BMW M 1000 RR Quick Ride Review | Barber Motorsports Park Track Test
1 Video View·Oct 29, 2026
Hey everybody, welcome to Barber Motorsports Park,
and what you see behind me is the BMW M1000RR.
Now, I realize I'm making this quick ride video
because we don't even have any content on over the M1000RR.
And that's a shame, because that's a really,
really cool motorcycle that we should be covering.
So, here we are. Like I said at the top of this,
this is not a full review of the bike.
just a quick review of the bike
because I did have a chance to spin a couple of laps on it.
There's way too many features
and things on this bike to make a full full full review on
right now because I rode many many many bikes today
but as an overview of what the M1000RR
has to offer that's what I'm gonna provide here.
So you probably know a lot about this bike already
nothing new necessarily
but like i said we haven't done anything on it recently or at all
so we're here to change that but m1000rr is a beast of a motorcycle
so let's take a closer look
on the m1000rr and see what makes it a double r alrighty
so here is the m1000rr bmw's
flagship leader class sport bike that they use
to compete in moto america world superbike and
everywhere there is a superbike championship
to be had this is the bike that bmw is using
to compete in it it is one hell of a bike there's
a lot to talk about i'm gonna forget a lot of it
but i'll do my best to cover what i can
so we are here at one of nate kern's double r fests
here at Barber Motorsports Park.
This is one of the staff bikes, but it's also a bone stock M1000RR
provided by BMW. Let's do a little walk around, shall we?
And where else should we start?
At the front, because check out those wings.
Holy moly. You want some downforce? You've got some
downforce right there. That's big, y'all.
Here's my hand for scale. That's a big wing. As we look
into the nose section you'll see the intake
for the ram air as we move down you'll see the big
old brakes and you'll see the duct work to cool down
those brakes as well carbon wheels because
this is an m model of the highest level you've got
the M brand, M M excuse me, M branded blue brake
calipers, the beefy cooling system over there for the 1000cc,
oh sorry, 999cc inline 4 hidden
behind these fairings,
reported to make about 200-ish horsepower. You've got, you have got
this giant and constricting exhaust system,
but it's needed to make the sniff test happy and the
emissions test people happy
but let's check out some cool trick bits on this bike you've got
adjustable foot pegs right there check out
the adjustability on that guy different positions
six different positions you could put them at for your preference
so that's pretty cool and um yeah
carbon rear wheel the underslung rear brake caliper
um all trick bits you have the suspension
there all analog stuff as a track bike should
be from this side of things you've got you have got
the quick shifter up
and down right there that works
in works really well in BMW's four-cylinder
machine here
and then on the business end you've got
a lot to look at so as we flip the key as we
flip the key and check out what this bike has
to offer well yeah there's a lot of settings to go
through most of which you can go through
with this thumb wheel the traction control settings
are on a dedicated button the menus will get you through
a bunch of different stuff again this is
a quick ride not a thorough review
so keep that in mind the forks are adjustable preload is also
adjustable on this on this fork i love
the fact you have heated grips you can change the modes
here and the starter button is there.
And with that, let's start this bike.
Yeah, that's the stock exhaust too.
So yeah, in a nutshell, the M1000, and I've definitely missed
a lot of features, but there's just way too much
to cover in a quick little overview.
So my
thoughts
on the
M1000RR.
Well,
it's a beast.
It is a
beast of a
motorcycle.
The power
is very, very strong.
But it's actually, for a 200 plus horsepower bike, very easy to manage
if you know what you're doing.
You got to respect the throttle, got to respect the power.
But yeah, it's impressive how quickly that bike will go.
Carbon wheels, thing changes directions
so fast so easily the thing i had trouble
with on this bike is that second gear lull because of
these are stock bikes that have to meet
the EPA requirements it's no secret these bikes have
a second gear lull in the power band
because that's where they dumbed it down to meet those
carb requirements EPA requirements all that stuff
the Euro 5 compliance all that you can look all
the internet for flash ECU flashes for this bike
and it gets rid of that and the bike transforms
into something just incredible so um no secret there
but yeah it's what you expect in a flagship
superbike right i mean the brakes are crazy strong
the power is crazy strong but manageable it's an
easy bike to ride fast which this thing has
no business being can i tell if the wings are working
No, I don't think I'm good enough to tell
if those wings are really doing anything but
if nothing else there is a mental advantage there
because those wings are so enormous
you can tell yourself they're working
and uh hey that makes you go faster.
Cool. I'm really impressed by the front end feel of that bike.
I made no changes to the bike and
we've been swapping bikes between people all day long
and so this was not set for anybody
in particular just a general setting for a bunch of different people
and a bunch of different skill
sets and that front tire felt really really good like i was a fan
so maybe that winglet maybe the
winglets are working
who knows um yeah the shifting really really smooth in fact maybe
too smooth sometimes it was hard for me to really tell
if it was clicking up a gear or down a gear
i have to look at the gear indicator to see if it was working
or not and i could see that the
numbers would change so yeah it was it
was working i can see why it's a popular bike for super bike
racing because uh i think all the bikes
in this class are really freaking good so that's a
impressive machine capable of doing a whole lot we
were riding on Pirelli SC3 tires so
not the stickiest things in the world
but very consistent and very predictable and when this
bike was starting to chew through
those tires it would tell you hey man tone it down a bit because
i don't have much left we're about to reach the limits of grip here
and so the communication
between tire and throttle and chassis was really really nice
my time with the bike was pretty short
so i'm not going to pretend i know everything about
the bike i put it in the most powerful
power setting because my time was pretty limited
and yeah it's fast what you expect now
so i'm going to take some more time
in my written review over on motorcycle.com so go over there
to check out my full written review that's going
to be a little bit more thorough a little bit more
thought out but thanks for watching like subscribe all
that good stuff click the
whatever buttons you're supposed to click
to make this thing appear higher on the rankings
and i appreciate it i do so thanks again
for watching be sure to head to mo one more time
read my written review there
and as always ride safe and we'll see you later
